A Preliminary Study On The Form Design For Landscape Architecture

Contemporary architecture faces difficulties and challenges---The overall humansettlement environment is really unsatisfactory. It also correspondingly leads to chaosin "landscape" that is as a whole at certain level. The artificial constructions, whichare intervened in the landscape,are not unified with the original landscape structuresand features. In the field we live, a stable and peaceful life lasting thousands of yearshas been drifting away, while a new order has not yet formed. Both architecture andlandscape are lost in confusion.Based on the reseach on landscape architecture and landscape form, this paperwill preliminarily discuss the desigh strategy for how to intergrate them.Firstly this paper expounds the origin and significance of the research, makes thedefinitions of related concepts. The definitions of related concepts include the conceptof landscape architecture, the concept of landscape, the concept of landscape form andthe definition of " preliminary study ". All of these will determine the researchdirection in this paper.Then this paper elaborates some related theories about landscape architecture,which are the theoretical bases for discussing landscape architecture, including theorigin and development of landscape architecture, the field theory of landscapearchitecture and the catalyst strategy. As a theoretic support for the followingdiscussing about landscape form design, this paper also elaborates the relatedphilosophical background and technical support for landscape architecture.And then, from the perspective of integrative thinking, this paper discusses theform design for landscape architecture,respectively from the following three aspects:the structure form, the spatial form and the surface form.I hope it can provide peoplewith a new perspective and opportunity to think of the integrated design for landscapeand architecture, which is a harmonious human settlement environment. This is alsothe practical significance of this paper.Finally combining the concrete analysis of actual cases, this paper furtherlysummarizes the shortage of the strategy. What’s more, this paper tries to do amultiaspect overall research using the idea of systematic thinking, and discusses howto establish a design concept from the perspective of system theory.
