The Application Research Of Lean Production In The WGQ Shipbuilding Company Ship Production

Lean production has become one of the important models in the modern manufacturing production. Lean shipbuilding is derived from the concept of the lean production, which is the application of the lean production theory in the shipbuilding industry. Firstly the U.S. shipbuilding industry put forward this theory, which means that during the whole construction process from the shipbuilding contract signing to the completion of delivery, through full incentives and efforts,the production structure is to be optimized, all the invalid (non-valued) production process and links are to be removed, and by reducing all waste in the production process it can reduce shipbuilding cycle, reduce production costs, ensure the shipbuilding quality and increase the product profitability.The "12th five-year" is the key period for China’s shipbuilding industry to realize the change from "large" to "strong", and the shipbuilding enterprises are required by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to establish the efficient shipbuilding system based on the "lean shipbuilding "as a guide, and to enhance the market competitiveness. Thirdly analyzes China’s shipbuilding industry status comprehensively and the current production patterns in WGQ company based on the research background of the WGQ shipbuilding company and illustrates the current issues and analyses the causes. Then the paper focuses on the improve plan and detail solution for WGQ company based on lean production theory and the example of175,000tons Cape of Good Hope bulk carrier.
