Analysis Of Color Characteristics And Color Conservation Of Modern Historical Buildings In Nantong

This paper studies the modern historical buildings whose styles are inspired by western architecture from the perspective of architectural colors. The research discusses the color characteristics of existing modern historical buildings in Nantong city combined with qualitative and quantitative methods and analyses colors of modern buildings in Nantong in the aspect of color distribution, color characteristics of varied kinds of architectural components and color composing patterns. The study intends to explore innovative color sampling method and analysis method, and further to establish a set of color database for directly applying to conservation of modern historical buildings. Based on the investigation and analysis of color of modern historical buildings in Nantong, this research tries to find the proper technique, management policy, controlling means of color conservation for Nantong, and to formulate related guide rules of color conservation of historical buildings for the sake of inheriting color of historical buildings in city more effectively, which is a important urban feature. In addition, this paper is a kind of supplement and perfection of existing research system of modern Chinese architecture and historical building conservation research, and focus to the minor cities in Chinese modern history, as a deepening of modern Chinese architectural history.
