The aging tendency of the population was a remarkable feature of the21st century. Based on the special circumstances of our country, the task to strengthen the social care service system is very arduous. Nevertheless, the outdoor environment for the elderly apartment has not match the step of the aging of the population. Therefore, it is necessary to detailed and systematic study for the elderly apartment outdoor environment.This paper starts from the realities of an aging population, with elderly physiology, psychology, environmental behavior, landscape design and other multi-disciplinary research, analyzed the physical, psychological and behavioral needs of the elderly.Based on the above research, the article investigates number of the elderly apartments outdoor environments, especially the four elderly apartments. Research through field investigations, exchanged of interviews and questionnaires, and used an unified framework division and the position of outside environment of every case. Then, the object of the investigation from several key aspects of the function zoning, traffic conditions, spatial composition, environmental facilities and green status horizontal comparison, summed up the widespread problems and some merits.Next, take the outdoor environment of the elderly apartments as the object of study, then do the construction and analysis of comprehensive evaluation. Based on the previous induction and investigation, the evaluation factors of the elderly apartments outdoor environment was divided into four parts of the security, functionality, livability and landscape. In this four-part list of the main influencing factor analytic hierarchy process analysis relatively comprehensive evaluation of the importance of the various factors, the center of gravity of the clear construction of the elderly apartments outdoor environment. Through the questionnaire scoring, statistical analysis of the survey to the evaluation results, verify that the supplementary field survey results further clarify the outdoor environmental status of the elderly apartments in Nanjing.Finally, based on the above analysis and research, summarized the common problems of the apartments for the elderly in Nanjing outdoor environment, and find the deficiencies and weaknesses in order to spy on the country apartments for the elderly in building outdoor environment.
