There is a wide variety of vulnerable groups in our country, for a high proportion, which not only include the disabled people, also includes the elderly, young children and pregnant women. They are widely distributed throughout the great river north and south, in every corner of the city can see them. The existing railway sleeper as an essential tool for long-distance travel, the use of there is a big obstacle for disadvantaged groups.In this paper the main theoretical basis is the universal design idea, use it as a guiding ideology to rethink a sleeper train unit. Universal design is a worldwide problem, it focuses on the object is not only a healthy adults, is more like the old, weak, disease, remnants, such vulnerable groups. By drawing on the successful case of general design in foreign countries and theory research, combined with the characteristics of a sleeper, the general design concept is used in the design of the sleeper unit of innovation.The core part of this paper mainly through the following five types:(1) Determine the crowd, and study and analysis to each kind of crowd behavior characteristics, to meet the sleeper is designed according to the different passenger demand and related ancillary facilities. By studying the barrier-free standards provide the basis for detailed design. By carrying the wheelchair actually get in the car,(2) Find the25G soft sleeper limit disabled people to travel in the space, with the demand of barrier-free standards and all kinds of people draw a general rule of sleeper design proposal.(3) To the existing25G carriages for the overall planning and design, layout, contains aisle in order to meet the passenger from get on the bus, the sleeping car, the use of various facilities inside, get off this a complete drive process.(4) Size validation of design from the space. Validated by real size, to determine the rationality of the space dimension and analyze the wheelchair in the corridor and a sleeper compartment within the wheelchair path.(5) Design for the man-machine analysis by using Jack software.
