| Nowadays in China, as an significant facility to the process of urbanization, subway has been a mark to measure the development and ethos of a city.Based on Seven Principles of Universal Design theory, Universal Design is humanized and general that appeals to different spaces and various design types. During a long period of time, Universal Design has been considered as a barrier-free design type under the category of Space Design.This paper tries to restore the function and the value of Universal Design to the metro. From the perspective of a tourism city, take Hangzhou as an example, this paper would analyze the transportation features of a tourism city and the metro, does the research of the culture and the facilities and function development of Hangzhou Metro. What’s more, this paper would also clearly illustrates the research of the metro application design:Service Interface System, Equipment System, Car System, and Barrier-free System. This paper is not only focus on doing the research and analyzing the current Universal Design of Hangzhou Metro Line One, but also pointedly compares the design with other typical tourism cities by summarizing the advantages and disadvantages of the research methods. And this paper presents the specific application suggestions and Universal Design guidelines for Hangzhou Metro by following the analysis Strategy of Universal Design Philosophy, eventually purposes on providing valuable references of the metro following project for Hangzhou and other similar cities. |
