| With the worldwide growing environmental problems, urban ecosystems increasingly fragile, and environment in residential areas are also facing many problems. In recent decades, for achieving sustainable development research, domestic and foreign scholars have started to pay attention to improve the living environment. Thus, Eco-type settlements have become the primary objective of urban settlements construction, eco-type settlements planning has become a hot research topic. Our scholars since the1990s began to focus on human settlements issues and propose the construction of eco-settlements, however, this aspect of exploration compared with the West still at a preliminary stage, especially in the planning index system optimization and control indicators (including thinning, quantitative relationships and adaptation strategies) is relatively weak, meanwhile, the industry has the connotation of ecological settlements still fuzzy state. Therefore, I believe it is necessary for eco-settlements connotation of ecological settlements planning and controlling quantitative relationship refinement indicators systematic study of adaptation strategies to compensate for the deficiencies in the existing index system so that it can guide in different Natural urban Ecology settlements planning, and planning level that is right from site selection to build ecological settlements to be operational during the last ecological environment protection and living environment to give constructive suggestions to shape guidelines.This study will be of relevant theory and classical analysis of the case studies ecological settlements, finishing materials and research results have been summarized and sublimation ecological settlements connotation, and in the existing settlements planning controlling index system based on according to the requirements of eco-settlements planning refinement controlling core indicators to quantify the relationship between the core indicators and indicators of adaptive strategies and propose appropriate guidelines for planning and construction, in order to get a settlement can be used in ecological planning can adaptation strategies implemented by controlling indicators for the future construction of the eco-settlements provide relevant information.
