Photoelectric tracking system for carrier landing is used in slide-route andattitude measuring for aircraft landing on carrier, tracks and observes the landingaircraft based on photoelectric imaging and auto target recognizing technology, andgets the movement parameters by recording and processing the sensor data andimage information for the objects. The system is shipboard installed nearby therunway of deck, and accurately tracks the aircraft with high speed and accelerationto ensure the specified area of the object being measured effectively. The wavingmovement makes disturbance on the Light of Sight (LOS), and the stabilizingcontrol method is used to stabilize the LOS and improve the tracking performance.The bandwidth for high acceleration tracking is limited due to the mechanicalresonance. The system saturation and delay of the sensor worsened the stability. So,optimized methods and improved approach in controller design is wanted.The paper researched the principle of photoelectric tracking, summarized thecalculating flow of the controller’s parameter based on err coefficient and frequencydomain design method in engineering, analyzed the characteristic of landing object’smovement, modeling the control object, realized the system design, and researchedthe Internal Model Control (IMC) method to improve the robustness of the system.In the end, the specification of tracking and LOS stabilizing of the system is tested,and the design conclusion is given.
