Recent years, the world economic integration and globalization of trade trend and the cargo from all over the world circulates widely. Shipping industry is developing rapidly in the environment. The prosperity of the shipping industry drive the development of the ship-building industry, ship is developing toward the trend of large scale, specialization, automation and new-type in the field of ship. But because of actual condition’s limitation, many trained crew can’t timely access to the new equipment and new technology. Turbine simulator can compensate for this lack, and virtual reality technology developing rapidly in recent years pushes turbine simulator to a higher level. The application of virtual reality technology in turbine simulator will become the trend of new generation of turbine simulator.This topic selects a VLCC ship’s compressed air system as the research object, combined with the projects of Dalian Maritime University turbine simulator automation lab, and it has developed the virtual reality of compressed air system. According to the actual control logical relationship of the target, the research realizes the control logic of ship compressed air system simulator. Besides, the present research also realizes the interactive operation between virtual reality software and marine engine simulator.This topic main research work includes:establishing mathematical model of the compressed air system; using Matlab/Simulink to verify the mathematical model; developing the2D simulation system of compressed air system interface based on VC#programming language; making3D model of ship compressed air system; drawing the nameplate that the system need; optimizing and rendering3D model; using Untiy3D virtual reality development platform, guiding the3D model of ship compressed air system is into the virtual environment, interaction of the3D virtual scene. Finally, use the UDP communication protocol, realized communication between the2D simulation software and3D virtual scene.The research and design of this topic has a certain practical and innovative, it has a certain guidance and reference significance for the study and application of virtual reality technology in the field of ship.
