Currently, with the quickly development of manufacturing, the competition of market ismore and more fully fierce, and the price determined by the market rather than the enterprise;at the same time, due to the cost of raw materials, wages and other fees increase continually,the manufacturing enterprises must reinforce their management. In order to enhance itscapacity of profitability, every waste in the production process, must be eliminated. Assemblyline balancing is an important means to improve production management level.In this paper, I researched the Reducer assembly line. Firstly, I got the operating time ofeach station by dividing the job content and Stopwatch test method; Secondly, with Witnesssimulation software, I analyzed all station of the assembly line, then found out the impact ofthe assembly line balancing; Thirdly, I used dual-population genetic algorithm to carry out theassembly line portfolio optimization combing with the results of simulation and rearrangedsome job content; Finally, to verify the improvement results, I analyzed the results ofoptimization by Witness simulation software once again, compared several aspects of theresults before and after optimization, including rhythm, balance rate, smoothness index anddelay rate.Although it is just to the reduction gear assembly balance research, the methods were usedand the conclusions not only have a direct practical value for engineering machinery and othersimilar production lines, but also have some reference value.
