With the development of computer information technology, the information technology of large engineering vehicle will be widely used. The information technology of large engineering vehicles is based on that the vehicle monitoring device of data acquisition and communication could be successfully installed. And that’s the core technology. At present,a lot of successful on-board internet monitoring systems are used in different kinds of large-scale engineering vehicles.These systems have strong pertinence, which often designed for a specific model. So it’s important to study an universal vehicle monitoring system which is useful for various kinds of trucks’working. As a result, the demand for such softwares is becoming increasingly urgent. The desgin and implement of terminal device’s software in vihicle monitor system play a critical role in whether the on-board monitoring device could work well.The on-board monitoring device’s software designed in this artical can help the device to do relevant works. And we can send the equipment’s state information, real-time data and location information of the large construction vehicle by the3G wireless network and GPS to the remote monitory station.That makes it possible for the personnel to remote monitor the large engineering vehicles, and even to grasp the overall situation of whole construction operations.First of all, according to the background and significance researched, this article elaborate the present situation and development trend of on-board monitoring device which is based on the data acquisition and communication. Then on the basis of the demand of the vehicle monitoring devices, it sorts out the overall design idea, determines the device’s function of each module and carrys on the detailed analysis of the demand. It also introduces the software development platform for Windows CE system. Then,it completes the on-board monitoring device’s program design of configured module and acquisition module. By the idea of configuration tables, it can apply the modules flexibly, and collect relevant data to the data types. It has completed the on-board monitoring device processing module and communication module’s program design. That is the communication protocol for data preprocessing and the program design for communication,which are meant to solve the problem of the wireless connection and to realize the real-time communication successful. Finally,the needed software platform is introduced.After programming test,the test results are the same to the expected ones.The on-board monitoring device has successfully finished the parameters’configuration, data acquisition, data processing and data communication’s task,and has achieved the expected effect. This technology has very strong practicability and good development prospects.
