With the rapid development of urbanization, and urban space constantly expansion and renovation, the spatial pattern of urban agglomeration is changing rapidly, and the problem of higher spatial conflicts emerges. Spatial conflicts will deeply affect the coordination of regional spatial pattern, threaten urban agglomeration economical, social and ecological system’s high efficiency and sustainable development. Exploring spatial conflicts’formation mechanism and regulation pathway has important theoretical and practical significance.Changzhutan urban agglomeration is one of major city groups in middle and western areas of China, it is in the process of rapidly urbanization at present, and all kinds of spatial conflicts are increasingly prominent. Based on the perspective of integrating geography, ecology, economics and sociology, utilizing remote sensing, city planning, social and economic data, based on Envi, ArcGis, CAD, SPSS, Excel software, it measures the spatial structure conflict, the spatial pattern conflict and the spatial process conflict of Changzhutan urban agglomeration by constructing spatial conflicts’measurement indexes. Based on the three points, two stages’measurement results of saptial conflicts, combining the traditional statistical methods and geostatistics method, it researches spatial conflicts’formation mechanism and regulation pathway in Changzhutan urban agglomeration. The results show that:A. The spatial structure conflict is still in controllable stage but tends to be out of control, Changsha,Zhuzhou,Xiangtan’s center city, Wangcheng Gaoxing area, Changsha county, Zhuzhou county, Xiangtan county’s county towns have the maximal spatial structure conflict, and their surrounding areas’structure conflict is increasing.B. Space with ecological function value in urban agglomeration suffering interference from human activities increases slowly, but the urban fringe suffers large interference. Areas clustered industry, especially Wangcheng economic development zone, Jinxia economic development zone, Tianyi economic development zone and Zhuzhou Qingshuitang region have higher possibility of conflict risk because of the space layout.C. In urban agglomeration, the spatial process is low controllable, the speed of construction space occupying space with ecological function tends to be out of control, uncontrollable degree of regional spatial process conflict is increasing, and the urban fringe has the minimal controllability of spatial process, so its spatial process conflict is largest.D. Space resources’competition, development and utilization of space, spatial qualities’change, spatial Spillover, and spatial conflicts’ management are the essential reasones of spatial conflicts’formation. They have two directions to spatial conflicts, one is the positive-going effect, and the other is negative-going effect. The five driving factors’two effects, and all kinds of driving factors’autocorrelation in space determine the spatial conflicts’formation and evolution.E. The increase in negative-going effect of the five driving factors is the key factor to spatial conflicts intensifying in Changzhutan urban agglomeration. Space resources reposition conflict, unreasonable development and utilization of space, spatial quality degradation, spatial negative spillover, the failure of spatial conflicts’regulation, and spatial conflicts’spatial autocorrelation make spatial conflicts in Changzhutan urban agglomeration intensify in the process of formation and evolution. F. Based on the analysis framework of "problem-mechanism-countermeasures", referencing space control theory, it put forward the regulation pathway pertinently from Changzhutan urban agglomeration spatial structure, pattern and process optimization. Through the prevention of the unbalanced spatial structure, imbalance development of space resources, urban and rural space transformation out of control, improper utilization of space resources, and improper spatial combination, and with the interaction between the measures, spatial structure, pattern and process can be optimized, and the degree of spatial conflict can be optimized.
