With a long history, covered bridge has always been typical chinese ancient architecture bridge. In recent years, because of the need for function and building landscape environment, various types and styles of covered bridges have been built. Many built covered bridges have become distinctive scenic line in local. So far, the research on mechanics of covered bridges is fewer. For a long time, covered bridge has never been researched as a single bridge type. Generally, covered bridges are divided into upper covered structures and lower bridge structures and are researched, which is not considered in interaction between upper covered structures and lower bridge structures. With the development of scientific technology and increasing demands of the society, covered bridge has great increase in number and span, and its structure form is increasingly diversiform.This thesis takes HuangLongXi covered bridge as engineering background. The whole bridge model and the lower bridge model are built by Midas/Civil. The static properties and dynamic characteristic of two models are detailed analyzed. Some valuable conclusions are achieved for design and construction reference by analysis. In this thesis, the main research contents include:1. By literature collection and concluding, the paper mainly expounds development history, research status and method, which provide theoretical guidance to the research on covered bridge.2. Based on finite element theory, two calculating models of HuangLongXi covered bridge are built by Midas/Civil. The static properties of two models are detailed researched under different load case. The results of two methods are compared and analyzed, studied the influence of the corridor structure on bridge structure.3. Based on two finite element model of HuangLongXi covered bridge, apply response spectrum analyse and time-procedure analysis to perform seismic analyse and dynamic characteristics. The results of two methods are compared and analyzed, studied the influence of the corridor structure on the bridge structures in seismic design.4. Based on the results of static and dynamic of analysis of large-span covered bridge, this paper summarizes mechanical behavior of covered bridge and proposes a rational analytic method for covered bridge, to provide design reference for large-span covered bridge.
