Prayer wheel,as a sign of the Tibetan Buddhism,is becoming increasingly important in the buddhists' heart,and its scale and volume is also becoming bigger and bigger.As a public building,structure engineering experts attached great importance to its safety and seismic performance.Prayer wheel is composed of twist and bearing parts,its structure is quite special.In this article,I select the prayer wheel structure type in A Wan Cangning temple as the research object,establish a model which the twist and bearing parts work cooperatively,carry on the static force and seismic performance analysis in this model.During the seismic performance analysis,I proceed the response spectrum and time-procedure analysis(choose the EI wave,Taft wave and artificial wave) and drawn the following main conclusions:(1) The main weak position of the prayer wheel is top's and bottom's inside ring girder and the straight girder,the development trend of the top's and bottom's internal force increases gradually from edge artifacts to center components;(2) Under the vertical loads,the maximum displacement occurs outside the prayer wheel;under the horizontal loads and the seismic action,the maximum displacement occurs on the top of the prayer wheel;(3) Under the seismic action, the local vibration of the main cylinder is more intense;the internal force of the bottom's components grow more obviously than the internal force of the top's components.The same as the situation under the static load,the main weak position is still the inside ring girder and the straight girder;(4) Under the seismic action,the top peak acceleration almost matches the top maximum displacement.That is to say,under the action of the seismic wave,when the peak acceleration at the top appears,frequently along with the top maximum displacement appears.(5) The top peak acceleration of the prayer wheel structure often comes out after 1s of the seismic wave peak,there is a certain reaction time,the length of time is associated with the structure,the material,and so on;(6) Prayer wheel structure system has a certain amplifying action of the earthquake acceleration,and with the increase of the altitude, the amplification effect also increases gradually.
