With rapid economic development, many people begin to gathering the city. The city’straffic pressure has become more and more heavy. There are some problems, such as trafficjam in the first-tier cities in China. The subways as a large transportation play a vital role toour country’s economy and ecology. The subway’s construction boosts the urban undergroundspace and circulation. The relative dispersed suburbs“net”together as a whole and strengthenthe connection between the districts and the division of labor. So can enhance the ability ofthe city of form a complete set. However metro transfer space as a part of them, the tasks hasmore difficult. It is facing the complex line network engineering and huge passenger flow.Therefore, it is very important to study the metro transfer space.The main of this paper is thepeople. All the functions of metro transfer space are decided according to the needs of people.There are two aspects: one of is people put forward the basic requirement of space accordingto their needs, such as traffic needs, cognitive needs and comfort requirement.The other is thespace show the function according to people’s needs. The paper mainly talks about from theentrance, flow and culture. Then through theoretical research, case analysis, evaluation. Andthen puts forward the reasonable metro transfer space method and optimization suggestions.The paper mainly from four aspects:The first part is raising the question and exploringthe value of the research. Then try to explain the relate concepts. Review and summary someresearch methods. After clearing the meaning of the research and emphasis, elaborate thepaper’s framework.The second part is analysis the questions. Including the element of metrotransfer space, research at home and abroad (focus on the experience summary in Beijing,Shanghai, and Hong Kong). Through the two parts, people can understand the space design concepts, handle methods and the reason.The third part is solving the problems. I combinedthe Xi’an metro in North Street (including the site analysis, person’s behavior observation,and understanding of the aesthetic). I summarized that the shortcomings of the north streetmetro space and put forward the optimization strategies.The last part is also solving theproblems. Through analyzing the theory research, person’s behavior and psychological needsof people. Concluding the design principles of metro transfer space, summing up the designmethods and optimization methods. And through optimizing the north street metro transferspace, proposing the suggestion of metro transfer space designation.From the four aspects, trying to base on the theoretical knowledge, the case study andperson’s needs. And then using objective, systematic and suitable design methods to providethe future of the metro’s designation.
