The Application Of Chinese Character Symbol In The Chinese Restaurant Interior Design

Chinese characters originated from the pictographic graphics of nature to express the meaning with its form, which is the carrier of passing on social civilization. Chinese characters are not only the symbols of Chinese long history and civilization, but are also an important tool to convey information in our daily life. Chinese characters as a hieroglyph in passing information, also contains profound cultural connotation. With the unique cultural information, Chinese characters represent the cultural view of the Chinese nation and the spread of the aesthetic, and it have open content, changeable language design and visual forms. All of these are very important for the connotation of Chinese traditional culture and national art in interior design research.Food culture is an important part of Chinese traditional culture, and dining space is one of the most important places of human activity. When people experience the service of food and beverage, their needs for-the spiritual demand, cultural demand and satisfy personalized of interior space have enhanced obviously. Now the Chinese restaurant designing are influenced by the western culture. Along with the deepening of China’s international status, Chinese style restaurant gradually get the favor of foreigners. When Chinese catering go into international, people gradually realize the importance of local culture at the same time, and begin to seek the binding sites of traditional culture with the design.This paper is based on Chinese character symbol, as the theoretical basis of research. And through the deep talking to the Chinese character symbol, I want to provide a certain amount of design thinking for Chinese style restaurant space interior design, by further reading Chinese character symbol and connotation, researching carries forward the tradition, advocating innovation and returning on the basis of local design. Based on sorting and analyzing related literature, my paper tries to reach Chinese characters from the Angle of symbolic. At the same time, by taking the subject crossing method and the method of analyzing proof, I try to do comparatively detailed analysis and exploration to the connotation of the Chinese character as well as its application in modern design case. And I also want to summarize and then analyze the Chinese character symbol in interior design to elaborate its expression. With these attempting digging the deep strong expressive force and the possibility of the Chinese characters, exploring its artistic features in Chinese style dining-room, creating the interior design of Chinese style restaurant with both Chinese culture and conforming to the modern aesthetic.
