Generally, the car is a complex modular high-speed movement of the noise source. The basic reason of automobile noise is from automobile engine and transmission system’s mechanical vibrations, high speed car’s rolling tyres on the ground and the role of body with the air. According to the vehicle’s noise that impacts on the environment, car noise can be divided into the noise outside the car and the noise inside the car, the noise inside the car refers to the noise of car’s mechanical part that radiates to space outside the car. Mainly includes the engine noise, the exhaust noise, the tire noise, the brake noise and the transmission noise, etc.Automotive engine and transmission system is regarded as the typical noise sources, there has a lot of researches on engine performance at home and aboard, and many scientific research achievements have been applied practically. In this case, as the oil source of engine system, electric fuel pump’s noise problem becomes more and more prominent in the car. In this paper, according to a electric fuel pump we get from an engine system, pick out it’s roller vane pump and try to control the noise from the fuel source.This paper discusses the key components of electric fuel pump, the roller vane pump’s noise control problems. For electric fuel pump, this paper firstly introduces the study of electric fuel pump theory both at home and abroad, as well as the outcomes that domestic and foreign experts have achieved in the field of noise control. In this paper, due to the theoretical analysis, the noise reasons of the roller vane pump has been derived, its noise source comes from mechanical and fluid noise. First, the mechanical noise is mainly refers to the noise of the collision between the roller and stator; Second, the fluid noise is mainly refers to the output flow pulsation.The different reasons of roller vane pump’s noise impact lead to the different research target, this paper analyses the following points one by one:the stator curve’s performance, the roller and rotor slot’s shape, the actual output flow pulsation of the pump when considered the leakage, the weak part’s (lateral plate’s) material optimization problem.Take experts at home and abroad for reference, according to the research method of the vane pump, and research on a certain type of electric fuel pump, pick out it’s roller vane pump, from the stator curve, cooperate to improve the roller and rotor slot’s gap and shape, control the pump’s actual output flow pulsation, and optimize material’s selection of the weak part’s (lateral plate’s) material. Therefore, it is the following improvements:1) optimize the stator curve, take the following three aspects into consider, they are the uniformity of the flow (control the speed mutation), mechanical properties (control the acceleration mutation) and mechanical vibration (control the acceleration rate of mutation), get the high order stator curve which has no attacks completely and lower noise;2) optimize the rotor slot’s angle to improve the stress state of the roller; 3) derive the gap and the leak’s relationship between the roller, the stator and the pump plate, get the accurate flow pulsation relation while considered the leakage;4) simulate and analyse the stress and strain on all parts of the roller vane pump while it is in the process of work, the selection of the weak part’s (lateral plate’s) material, eliminate vibration by controlling the material stiffness.Through a series of improvement design, obtained the stator curve which has no impact; Calculate the angle of rotor slot while the sliding friction is minimum; Deduce the model formula of clearance flow and analyze the effective control method for flow pulsation; The simulation analysis of stress and strain, the part according to the most concentrated stress and the biggest strain of the lateral plate, increase its strength by using the method of material optimized selection, and increase the overall strength of the electrical fuel pump. Using the finite element simulation software to simulate the improved the effect. The roller vame pump’s noise performance is improved and a ideal result is obtained.
