Design And Implementation Of Pavement Management System In Seasonal Frozen Area Based On GIS

With the rapid development of our social economy, the scale of highway construction hasachieved a rapid growth. When the social value is created, a series of disease of the pavementhas also emerged due to the impact of increasing vehicle load, natural environmental factorsand man-made destruction which make the problem of maintenance and management for thepavement more important. As an effective tool to manage the pavement for the administrativedepartment, pavement management system integrates the highway engineering, informationengineering, and structure engineering and computer technology. Because of the limitation oftechnology platform, the visualization of the traditional pavement management system in theaspect of dealing with the data cannot meet the requirements. With the widely application ofGIS, the pavement management system based on the platform of GIS not only realize the visualmanagement, but also have the powerful graphics processing capacity and the function ofspatial data query, statistical analysis and so on.For the purpose of efficient management of pavement in the seasonal frozen region, basingon consulting of the related literature at home and abroad about pavement management system,the composition and function of each part of pavement management system are studied. Thedevelopment and implementation of the pavement management system in seasonal frozenregion based on GIS is considered as the main object. The main content of this article isfollowing：1. The background and research significance are elaborated. Through literature review,summarize the research status on pavement management system, illustrate the importance ofthe foundation of pavement management system in seasonal frozen area and determine the lineof research of this article.2. The related theory of GIS is introduced, the advantages of applying GIS technology tothe pavement management system are illustrated, and the realization of the specific function ofGIS in the system is expounded in detail.3. The pavement management system in the seasonal frozen region is built based on GIS. The system demand is analyzed; the system structure and function are designed; thedevelopment approach, platform and development tools are identified. The design and build ofsystem database are studied as the key point.4. The system function that will be achieved is studied. Through the analysis of thepavement performance, the research method, evaluation method and evaluation standard ofpavement performance are researched, and the pavement performance evaluation modelsuitable for the seasonal frozen region is established. Through the comparison and analysis ofeach forecast model and combined with the characteristics of the testing data, the pavementperformance prediction model is determined.5. On the basis of the above model, the developed system is applied into two highways thathave been built in Heilongjiang province (Ha-Shuang and Ha-Sui highway), the feasibility ofthe system is verified. Combining with the operation of the system interface, the function ofeach part and the specific operation are stated.
