Nowadays, how to manage and improve the congestion has become one of the hottest worldwide topics in the traffic study. Moreover, the application of variable lane is an important way to improve traffic environment as well as to facilitate the availability of main trunk traffic road. In order to alleviate the traffic jam, digging fully and making good use of the available resources is an efficient measure, since there are only limited resources in the city road construction. It is at those rush hours that the traffic becomes dense and paralyzed. This situation especially can be seen in the trunk roads of Guangzhou Tianhe District. Therefore, there is realistic meaning of studying lying in the application of variable lane in this area.The following passage first focuses on analyzing the network of urban trunk roads in Tianhe District. The concrete data which were gained from Department of Transport and field investigation can show which lane has the largest traffic flow. Second, after analyzing those data and comparing the distributed ratio of two-way lines and the distribution of traffic which will change as time goes by, the simulated parameter of part main roads in Tianhe District can be modeled. With the help of Paramics, a simulated test can be carried out. By this way, the level of traffic congestion is clear enough to perceive. Third, according to the analysis of whether the main roads can satisfy the condition of variable lane, it is possible to set up variable lane in the Paramics and carry out the test. Besides, some adjustments on some sections where the distribution coefficients are far different can also be implemented. Finally, the passage compares both the congestion of now and before and lists the advantages and disadvantages of the application of variable lane.By comparing the simulation, eventually concluded that in the morning and evening peak hours, that is,"7:00-9:00" and "17:00-19:00" two sessions of Guangzhou Avenue and Keyun Road implement rhyme variable lane scheme, traffic congestion management have a significant effect. |
