Fast electromagnetic drive mechanism is a key technology of high voltage fast transfer switch as a fast drive mechanism,it has widely used in many technical fields of power systems, such as phase control switches, integrated fault current limiting devices, power quality issues. The operation principle of this mechanism is based on hat a pre-charged capacitor discharges to a closing or tripping coil, generating a few milliseconds of the pulsed current. The moving coil which is fixed to the mechanical linkage is driven by the pulsed electromagnetic thrust force to achieve a rapid closing or breaking of the switch. Currently, the main topologies of the coreless coil structure include the discoid electromagnetic drive mechanism and the solenoid type electromagnetic drive mechanism. Many researchers have in-depth research in discoid electromagnetic drive mechanism,but few studies in solenoid type electromagnetic drive mechanism,in this paper we focus on the research of it.we introduce the principle and algorithm of fast electromagnetic drive mechanism, the algorithm focuses on the double iterative algorithm based on time and displacement and finite element analysis. The basic idea, computing processes, the advantage and disadvantage of them are analyzed. We also introduce the simulation software named magnet in detail in this paper.this software is easy to use and is close to the actual situation.it can solve a variety of complex electromagnetic problem by the ability of accurate simulation.Many researchers have in-depth research in discoid electromagnetic drive mechanism,but few studies in solenoid type electromagnetic drive mechanism.followed the electromagnetic force sensitivity coefficient and the acceleration sensitivity coefficient, the static parameter of relative size, static parameter of position, static parameter of radius, static parameter of number of turns are analyzed and optimized. And we get the optimized value or range. Which can provide the basis parameter for solenoid type fast electromagnetic drive mechanism. We validated it by dynamic simulation, there are a better understand of the moving of the solenoid type fast electromagnetic drive mechanism and We can verify the static parameter’s conclusion is correct by analyzing the range,force, acceleration and speed.We only analysis the model of fast electromagnetic drive mechanism,but the circuit is also important.so we analyze and optimize the circuit, in the same model, change the circuit, in different circuit compared the dynamic parameter. We get the best way of circuit. We compare the circuit in series and parallel, separate charge of two coil, voltage and capacitance and discharge of two capacitance to get best circuit.The single model can not meet we need,so we combine the model and propose the combination model, we compare the combination model with the others in the same energy and the basically same current. And we have a deeper understanding of them.
