Solar Power optimizer’s main concept is make independence of operation function in Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) from solar inverter, placed in each solar cell, make each solar cell can be free-running MPPT track, significantly enhanced power loss of the traditional photovoltaic array caused by the shade. Photovoltaic array form mainly is about the traditional centralized MPPT structure, whose main advantages is simple in structure and low cost, but in the photovoltaic cell components in the array will cause current and voltage matching problems at the shadow, lead to the overall power efficiency of the system is greatly reduced. To resolve this problem, a pv array of each battery connected to the power optimizer photovoltaic array architecture is put forward in recent years, provides a new way to solve the photovoltaic array current problem between the series battery and voltage problem between the parallel battery, will greatly improved the efficiency of power generation, thus lead to optimizer has great research value.On the basis of the traditional centralized MPPT framework, this paper studied an photovoltaic array architecture of power optimizer connected to the single photovoltaic cell components, The main work accomplished in this paper are as follows:(1) Respectively analysis and investigate traditional centralized MPPT and power optimizer how to influence on efficiency of pv array power generation then studies a kind of photovoltaic array architecture which each photovoltaic cell components connected to the power optimizer, and through established the simulation model of they, for two architecture’s power generation efficiency were compared.(2) Put forward a new maximum power tracking algorithm based on enhanced disturbance observation method which on the analysis of the predecessors’ studies; Then following created a simulation model of photovoltaic cells using MATLAB Simulink toolbox and respectively take traditional disturbance observation method and the presented disturbance observation algorithm into simulation verification, the experimental results present that the new enhanced disturbance observation method improves the problem of step difficult choice in traditional disturbance observation.(3) Program module function code using Verilog HDL language and pass test on ALTERA corporation Cyclone Ⅱ series FPGA after use of improved MPPT algorithm proposed in this paper, which has been succeeded in the function and time simulation.
