In recent years, with the rapid development of science and technology, thetraditional single geometric forms of high-rise buildings cannot meet the Innovativerequirements of urban construction. The architects’ artistic innovation and blame is oftenmade the size of high-rise buildings tend to be diversifying and different in shape. Theadoption of the declining column which makes the building inclining along te facade,although meets the architects’ requirements of the elevation modeling and functiondiversification, the inclined column of architectural form may produce the seismic weakpositions, which brings some problems to the structure designer. At present, the mainproblem of the declining column is that the research of it under earthquake is deficient,and there are no design criteria for the declining column. also did not give the designcriteria of inclined column structure, through the analysis of many earthquakes in the past,the destruction of the beam-column joints is one of the main reasons for big buildingsbeing destroyed in earthquakes, and the joint in the upper and lower end of the decliningcolumn will cause large horizontal force, which keeps phase equilibrium with its beamslab axial force and shear force. This makes the force of the declining column and someparts of the connected components so complex, and at the same time inclined column arechanging vertically, irregularly and rigidly, so this structure should be dedicatedresearched and demonstrated under the seismic action, and adopt special measures tostrengthen.In this paper, a frame-core tube structure with inclined column buildings in Lu’an isan example, combined with the requirement of the seismic performance-based, hascarried on the research work of the following several aspects:1.For the frame shear structure with inclined column buildings, using SATWEprogram, analysis of modal response spectrum method under the weak earthquakes wasdone. The results show that the structures has a good performance in elastic condition,and also meet the "no damage under minor earthquake".2.In order to further understand the mechanical characteristics of the inclinedcolumn and the components associated, take a single framework with the inclined columnand analyze the load combination of each condition. The results show that the presence ofinclined column have a greater impact on the internal force of adjacent frame beam andframe columns.3.In this paper, considering the mechanical characteristics of the inclined columnand the associated components,using Midas program and reasonable computationalmodel, nonlinear static analysis was done. The results show that the two lines of defensewere arranged reasonably, and meet the requirement of “no collapse under strongearthquake”, the yield mechanism of structural members also meet the “strong columnsand weak beams, strong shear and weak bending”,and the structure has a good ability toresist collapse and deformation under severe earthquake. 4.The floor slaps associated with the inclined column sustain greater axial tension,and resulting in a greater deformation. Compared the floor stress analysis of these floorswith common floors’ in each condition by Midas program, and find the relatively weakcomponents in the floor slaps.5.Through elastic analysis under the frequent earthquake and the elastic-plasticanalysis under the rare earthquake, combined with seismic performance objectives of theproject, put forward the corresponding seismic strengthening measures for similarengineering design.
