In order to meet the requirements of architectural modeling and use, the mainly lateral force resistant system of this project take concrete frame- core tube structure, the middle and lower part of the tower building use steel reinforced concrete column to reduce section and strengthen its seismic performance. In order to get large space, big holes in floors and wear layer columns are set in the structure. The complexity of irregular high-rise building structure makes the contradiction between building structural stability and economy increasingly prominent. Research works and analysis were done to solve this contradiction.According to <Code for seismic design of buildings> 3.6.2 : "the irregular structure with obvious weak positions which may lead to a significant earthquake damage should proceed static elastic-plastic analysis under rare earthquake according to the relevant provisions.Generally under strong earthquakes, the weak link of week floor firstly appear plastic hinge and destruction. In order to maximize the protection of people’s life and property security, this paper conduct static elastic-plastic analysis of the structure under rare earthquake to find out the weak links.Combined with the design concept of seismic performance, this paper selected a frame-core tube structure with wear layer columns as the research object.The main research work and conclusions are as follows:(1)Using SATWE program to analyze the structure’s response spectrum analysis under frequent earthquake, the results show that the performance of the structure under frequent earthquake accord with the specification limits,and the structure can satisfy the requirement of “no damage under minor earthquake”.(2)In order to further understand the mechanical characteristics of the wear layercolumn and the components associated, take a single framework with the wear layer column and analyze the load combination of each condition. The results show that the presence of wear layer column have a greater impact on the internal force of adjacent frame beam and frame columns.(3)The frame-core tube structure’s pushover and dynamic time-history analysis was analyzed by PUSH&EPDA.The results show that the injury mechanism of two mechanical models is similar and also satisfy the fortification goal of “strong columns and weak beams, strong shear and weak bending”. The stucture can satisfy the requirement of “no collapse under strong earthquake”.(4) Considering the mechanical characteristics of the wear layer column and the components associated, nonlinear static analysis was done by Midas program. The results show that the two lines of defense were arranged reasonably, and the structure has a good ability to resist collapse and deformation under rare earthquake,and meet the requirement of “no collapse under strong earthquake”.
