Study On The Development And Utilization Of Henan Ancient Pagoda’s Landscape Value

Ancient Pagoda is one of Chinese Five Thousand year civilization history carriers. They stand on the vast Chinese land, in magnificent gesture, with profound cultural connotation, add luster to both urban and hillwood. Ancient Pagoda is the gem of Chinese and Indian cultural exchange. They originated from India, and prevailed in China. Since Han dynasty, Ancient Pagoda merged with Chinese arts and culture, becomes chinalization and secularization step by step. Finally, closely combined with Chinese urban and hillwood landscape.Henan Province is located in middle China, it has long history, and is the birth land of Chinese traditional culture. Since Eastern Han dynasty, Buddhism spread into China, and during the same period, pagoda rooted in Henan. According to incomplete statistics, Henan has606independent constructed brick pagodas, the most among other province, city or autonomous region. These pagodas widely distributed in city, countryside and mountain in Henan. As witness of history development and carrier of arts and culture, these pagodas not only valued in enriching cultural landscape researching, but also have deep potential in natural landscape constructing.However, depend on the investigation on Henan Ancient Pagoda status, the landscape value of Ancient Pagoda does not exert well, or attract enough attention of relative government branch. Until now, research and protection of Ancient Pagoda is still in primary stage. Research of Ancient Pagoda’s future development based on its landscape is even less. So, investigation about Ancient Pagoda in this thesis is particularly important.The thesis primarily divides into three parts. Firstly, introduction of theoretical basis about topics research and summarization of Henan Ancient Pagoda. The topics research starts from the Ancient Pagoda’s background, significance and research status domestic and abroad. It defines the research object and clarifies the research method. Summarization basically introduces the origin and developing, molding and construction, shapes and features, and function of Henan Ancient Pagoda.Secondly, analysis of Henan Ancient Pagoda landscape value. In the first place, uncover the potential landscaping value of Henan Ancient Pagoda, analyze landscaping ways of how Henan Ancient Pagoda can participate in building unique and beautiful nature landscape. Then, analyze the rich cultural landscape value of Henan Ancient Pagoda from its profound cultural connotation and brilliant artistic achievement. Finally, based on the investigation of Henan Ancient Pagoda’s status and surroundings, point out the problems exist in development of Henan Ancient Pagoda’s landscape value. And then, raise series of measures which provide new ideas for how to make Henan Ancient Pagoda adapted into modern urban construction better.Investigation in this thesis, is mainly purposed to enrich and provide reference to the research of Henan Ancient Building. Activate the completely protected "Dead" building to be alive, to make them integrate into our life, and contribute to urban construction. Analyze the direction and reference function of Ancient Pagoda in gardening, landscaping, and urban construction. Point out the prospects of Ancient Pagoda in modern city.
