This study in Meicheng Forest Dongzhi county uses the1999,2002and2006yearLandsatETM+RS image as the main data sources,along with the data of Forest ManagementInventory,1:10000sub-compartment topographic map,1:25000forest form map and the cards ofsub-compartment. In the support of the RS and GIS technology,use ERDAS9.0to process layerstack,geometric correction,image fusion to preprocess the remote sensing images,chose themethod of unsupervised classification to classify the different periods of forest landscape andobtain the thematic map of forest landscape,then input into the soft FRAGSTATS to calculatevarious indices of forest landscape and analysis the dynamic changes of the different periods offorest landscape. The result could provide the basis for forest landscape planning.Fir forests and masson pine were obvious dominance in the whole landscape. From1999to2006,patch number of forest landscape dropped37.79%. The fragmentation trend in overallforest landscape has significantly alleviated. The near-mature forests and middle-aged forestswere main part of fir forests landscape pattern. Area of masson pine and arborvitae increasedslightly. Area of fir forest landscape decreasing significantly. Area of broad-leaf forest andmingled forest tend to increase,area growth were21.86%and12.71%respectively. The area ofshrub landscape increased obviously at high altitudes region.Each landscape types of Patch Density index are increased. Indicate that degree offragmentation of forest landscape pattern reduced gradually. Each landscape’s fractal dimensionwas small during the period,it show that human activities affected forest landscape strongly,patches of shape were quite rules and simple. Shannon’s diversity index and Shannon’s evennessindex fluctuated little. Indicate that Landscape type did not change obviously in study area,patches evenly distributed over forest landscape.The distribution of landscape was related to altitude and slope terrain factor. Eachdistribution of landscape type varies with change of altitude and slope terrain factors wereobvious similarities distribution rule. The landscape mainly distributed in the range amongaltitude below324m and slope above35°. masson pine and arborvitae distributed in the rangeamong altitude below324m and slope above35°more than others,with obvious dominance.Result indicated that the whole forest farm was larger affected by activity of human,thefragmentation of the whole landscape tend to lower. Although area of broad-leaf forest andmingled forest tend to increase,Masson pine and fir were still main part of landscape pattern ofmeicheng forest farm. Diversity of landscape pattern was low in the whole and showed a slowincrease trend. To sum up,landscape pattern of meicheng forest-farm tend toward be morereasonably.
