In this experiment,we selected two AM fungi:Glomus intraradices(Gi), Glomus geosporum(Gg), two ECM fungi:Paxillus involutns(Pi), Pisolithus tinctorins(Pt), and the effects of the mycorrhizal fungi on the growth of Populus.cana were studied. The results showed that:1.The AM fungus and ECM fungus all can colonize with P.cana. In single-inoculation situation, mycorrhizal infection rates shows Gi> Pi> Pt> Gg,Gi had better infection rate than the others, mycorrhizal infection rates respectively were63.2%,56.3%,24.8%,9.6%;In the mix-inoculation situation,in Gi/Pi group and Gi/Pt group, the infection rates of Pi and Pt all decreased,in Gg/Pi group,,the infection rates of Gg and Pi also all decreased,in Gg/Pt group, the infection rates of Gg and Pt all increased. There were both stimulative relationship and competitive relationship between different fungi.2. The biomass accumulation, root volume, root absorption area, root activity and growth indicators measure of P. cana have been increased by inoculating with the AM fungi and ECM fungi, and significantly higher than the CK. There is positively correlated between the growth of seedlings and mycorrhizal infection rate (P<0.05). Ground diameter, root dry weight of the seeding was positively correlated with mycorrhizal infection rate, but not significant. Root volume, root absorbing area, root actively absorbing area of the seeding were significant correlated with root dry weight, ground diameter and fresh weight of the seeding (P<0.01),The root volume and root actively absorbing area of the seeding were significant correlated with mycorrhizal infection rate (P<0.01), The root absorbing area of the seeding was correlated with mycorrhizal infection rate but not significantly (P<0.05)3. The peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase activity were measured in seeding of P.cana, All seeding inoculated with mycorrhizal showed significantly higher compare with the uninoculated seeding (P<0.05),The activity of peroxidase was significant correlated with the ground diameter and fresh weight of the seeding(P<0.05), The activity of polyphenol oxidase was significant correlated with the fresh weight and root dry weight (P<0.05)4. AM fungi and ECM fungi colonize with Populus cana all can promote growing of the seeding, the effect of different fungi is diversity.
