Artemisia Selengensis is a kind of preponderant economical plant, which is spread over the Northeast,"North China, and Central China. At present, Caidian of Hubei province has already planted it widely, which makes Artemisia Selengensis become the important industry for Caidian’s economic development. The planting and producing of Artemisia Selengensis depend mainly on manual work, whose efficiency is low, costing is high and labor intensity is big. Spreading Artemisia Selengensis mechanical transplanting skill is able to improve the efficiency and save the cost effectively.The transplanting device of artemisia selengensis transplanter by the project can realize the oriented, catching and transplanting movements for artemisia selengensis’s stalks. Artemisia selengensis’s stalks are separated and directed by the oriented mechanism, and are fixed and limited by the catching mechanism, and are grabbed and transplanted by the transplanting mechanism. The transplanting device can make sure the stalks move from the picking device to the seedbed in succession, realizing continuous orientation, fix, and transplantation.The main research contents of this project include:(1) Measure of stalk’s apparent characteristic and test of main mechanical physical character were developed. Stalk’s bending strength and transplanting device’s structural parameter’s basis were analyzed emphatically. On this basis, the global structural design of artemisia selengensis transplanter which takes advantage of pneumatic device to realize picking up the stalks automatically and mechanical transplanting device to realize transplanting the stalks was developed.(2) Design of the transplanting device. By analyzing the track of the stalks from the picking device to the seedbed and considering the mechanical and physical characters of artemisia selengensis’s stalks, the function of transplanting device was analyzed, and the basic working principle of transplanting device was stated. The transplanting device includes three critical mechanism:the oriented mechanism, the catching mechanism and the transplanting mechanism.(3) Design of the transplanting mechanism. In order to realize the stalks’s transplanting from the picking device to the approximate uptight position, the oriented mechanism was designed. In order to realize the stalks’s fix and limitation when they fall from the oriented mechanism, the catching mechanism is designed. In order to realize the stalks’s transplanting from the catching mechanism to the seedbed, the transplanting mechanism was designed.(4) The computer simulation of the transplanting mechanism. The transplanting mechanism uses separating planting mechanism with eccentric gears of rice transplanter. By analyzing the structure and kinematic characters of separating planting mechanism and using Separating Planting Mechanism Assistant Analysis And Optimizing Software to analyze the main parameters which influence the transplanting track of transplanting arm’s sharp point, a set of optimized parameters was obtained. Taking advantage of ADAMS software of Virtual Prototyping Technology to construct the models of separating planting mechanism and simulate. The optimized parameters were proved more applicative for transplanting artemisia selengensis’s stalks. Therefore, the design of hardware was provided theoretical basis.(5) The soil-bin experiment of artemisia selengensis transplanter. A artemisia selengensis transplanter was produced. The soil-bin experiment was done in a strip of ploughed and watered field. By observing the transplanting track in the transplanting device and the transplanting situation, the complete transplanting movements can be realized by transplanting device.
