Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.), annual herb bast fiber plant belonging to malvaceae hibiscus, hasbeen widly used. In order to complement and perfect the existing kenaf germplasm molecular identitydatabase, research and use of kenaf germplasm resources more fully,127kenaf germplasm fromdifferent countries and regions which conctain cultivated, wild and related species were geneticallyanalyzed based on morphological markers and SRAP molecular markers. The genetic relationshipbetween127kenaf germplasm was revealed. Unique molecular identity were established for127kenafgermplasm based on the results of SRAP makers. The results are followed:(1) The cluster analysis based on morphological maker showed that the similarity coefficient of127kenaf germplasm was between0.51-1.00. The127accessions of kenaf germplasm were divided intotwo major groups at similarity coefficient of0.63. Ⅰgroup include all the tested cultivars and wildspecies and H182, a related species (H.sabdariffa) introduced from Nepal and has nearer relationshipwith cultivars; Ⅱgroups include10related species.(2) Three hundred and eighty-three bands were amplified by40SRAP primers, of which375werepolymorphic and PPB was97.9%. The cluster analysis based on UMPGA showed that the similaritycoefficient was between0.62-0.94and the127accessions of kenaf germplasm were divided into fourmajor groups at similarity coefficient of0.70. Ⅰgroup include all the tested cultivars and one relatedspecies H182; Ⅱgroups include all the tested wild species; Ⅲ group include H118and H208, tworelative species introduced from Tanzania; Ⅳ group include8relative species.(3)Twenty-three kenaf accessions could be identified by thirty-three typical bands amplified by14SRAP primer combinations, which include16cultivated、4wild and3relative species. The specificmolecular identity for127accessions of kenaf germplasm based on36bands which were amplified by15core primer combinations were established with99.99%probability of confidence. The molecularidentity can identify each of the127kenaf germplasm, distinguish them at molecular level and providetheoretical basis for researching these kenaf germplasm.
