The experiment was conducted to study the effects of different levels of dietary protein on the production performance, the apparent digestibility, some physiological and biochemical indices, slaughter traits of5to16weeks age on LiuHua pheasant, to explore the nutritional requirements of appropriate protein of LiuHua pheasant from5to16weeks age.720one-day-old LiuHua pheasants (male and female half and half) were selected for testing.0to3weeks of age feed the chicken feed. According to the chicken of the average body weight were randomly divided into4treatment groups. The levels of dietary protein were designed to contain18.00%,19.00%,20.00%and21.00%. Each treatment group contained3duplications,with30chicks per duplication(male and female fed separately), The chicken excreta was gathered during the fifth week, eight week, twelfth week, sixteenth week for5days, and dried at65℃. The remaining nutrients in the dried excreta were detected.Result:(1). The dietary protein level of21.00%had significant effect on the male and female pheasant’s growth on5~7weeks, the weight gain was235.39g and230.04g respectively, increased by4.23%and4.33%. The dietary protein level of21.00%had significant effect on the female pheasant’s growth on8-10weeks, the weight gain was253.78g, increased by36.41%; and the dietary protein level of20.00%had significant effects on the male pheasant’s growth on8-10weeks, the weight gain was212.32g, increased by23.30%. The dietary protein level of20.00%had significant effects on the male and female pheasant’s growth on11-16weeks, The weight gain was336.31g and290.70g respectively increased by15.69%and21.75%. The dietary protein level can significant reduce the ratio of feed on5to13weeks, but had no significant influence on the ratio of feed on14to16weeks.(2).The dietary protein level of20.00%had significant effects on dressed percentage and eviscerated weight; Dressed percentage and eviscerated along with the protein level increased. When the dietary protein level was20.00%, percentage of leg muscle and percentage of breast muscle was the highest, but had no significant effects. The dietary protein level had significant effects on percentage of wing and percentage of abdominal fat.(3).Blood sugar concentration was increased along with the dietary protein level increase. That treatment group of dietary protein level of20.00%was respectively increased by17.36%of the serum total protein and13.24%of the globulin content, and reduced5.88%of the urea nitrogen content. The dietary protein level had no significant effects on glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase, glutamic-pyruvic transaminase, blood calcium, blood phosphorus. (4).The dietary protein level had significant effects on the apparent digestibility of methionine, and the apparent digestibility of methionin was along with the the dietary protein level increased. The dietary protein level had significant effects on the apparent digestibility of calcium on5to7weeks old (P<0.05), increased by14.78%. The dietary protein level had no significant effects on crude protein, methionine, lysine, crude fat, crude ash, calcium, phosphorus.(5).The apparent digestibility of energy at16week was3.36%higher than that at5week. The apparent digestibility of crude fat and calcium at16week were3.5%and6.9%lower than that at5week. The dietary protein level had no significant effects on crude protein, methionine, lysine, crude fat, crude ash, calcium, phosphorus from5to16weeks.The results prompted that the optimum level of dietary protein for5to10weeks period on male Liuhua pheasant was21.00%. And from11to16weeks period was20.00%. The optimum level of dietary protein for5to7weeks period in female Liuhua pheasant was21.00%. And from8to16weeks period was20.00%. The methionine requirement of Liuhua pheasant at growth period should be increased along with the dietary protein level. The energy requirement of Liuhua pheasant should be slightly increased along with the age.The crude fat and calcium requirement should be slightly reduced along with the age.The apparent digestibility of dietary energy, crude protein, methionine, lysine, crude fat, crude ash, calcium, phosphorus could be used as the parameter of apparent digestibility of pheasant conventional nutrient for reference.
