This thesis studies the effect of the lactating sows’fertility when adding gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and traditional Chinese medicine into the diet of the lactating sows in summer. We aim to find out if gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and traditional Chinese medicine will do improvement in anti-heat-stress ability and fertility. Also the mechanism of action will be discussed to provide scientific reference for the technology of anti-heat-stress in large scale pig farm in summer.15healthy, similar weight and expected date(7d) sows are chosen for this experiment. These15sows are randomly separated into3groups,5in each group, single-column feeding. Single factor experiment design is used. The comparison group will be fed with basic diet while the experiment groups will be fed with300mg/kg gamma-aminobutyric acid and3g/kg Traditional Chinese medicine adding to the basic diet. The experiment duration is21days. And the experiment results indicate: 1) The total feed intake of two experiment groups are higher than the comparison group by12.13%(P<0.05) and13.44%(P<0.05). And the total milk production of two experiment groups are higher than the comparison group by14.59%(P<0.05) and11.39%(P<0.05). These indicate that the GABA and traditional Chinese medicine can significantly improve feed intake and milk production of the lactating sows.2) In the end of the test, the body condition score of two experiment group are higher than the comparison group, and the backfat loss are also lower than the comparison group. Meanwhile, the estrus interval of the GABA group is0.6day(P>0.05) shorter than the comparison group, the estrus interval of the traditional Chinese medicine group is0.8day(P>0.05) shorter than the comparison group.3) The weaned pig weight, weaned litters weight, average daily weight gain of GABA group are higher than the comparison group by4.65%(P<0.05) and14.03%(P<0.05) and12.42%(P<0.05). And the weaned pig weight, weaned litters weight, average daily weight gain of traditional Chinese medicine group are higher than the comparison group by4.30%(P<0.05),13.51%(P<0.05) and9.36%(P<0.05).4) The blood indicators of the two experiment groups:the plasma AST content of heat-stress the lactating sows has been significantly reduced; the overhigh protein has returned to normal; the plasma urea nitrogen content has been significantly reduced. All these indicate that the additives have a protective effect on liver and kidney.
