Longlin goat is an excellent local breed in Guangxi province. The objective of current study is to analyze the correlation between microsatellite marker polymorphism and growth in Longlin goat, and provide the theoretical evidence for the breeding and conservation strategies. Correlation and regression of body weight and body size were analyzed in one year old goat. Genetic diversities of goat population were analyzed by microsatellite marker polymorphism and correlation between microsatellite markers and growth were analyzed.1. Growth data from ram and ewe were analyzed using ANOVA test in SPSS18.0. The result showed that body weight, body height, body length, and heart girth in ram had higher compared with ewe. Cannon circumferences were more length in ram than that in ewe. There were no significant difference both ram and ewe in other growth traits (P>0.05).2. The correlation analysis was performed using the Pearon linear related model. Body weight was taken as dependent variable, and the independent variables were body height, body length, heart girth, and cannon circumference. The result showed that the related coefficients of body height, body length, heart girth, cannon circumference, body weight were0.748,0.653,0.610, and0.224, respectively. That suggested that body height had a highest positive correlation with body weight, while the lowest was cannon circumference.3. The linear regressive model of body weight and body size was constructed with Stepwisem, Forward, Backward according to the multiple linear regressive model system. The result indicated that coefficient of deter-mination of best linear regressive model (R2value) was0.624. The regression coefficients (B) of body height, heart girth, body length were16.912,0.412,0.192, and0.173, respectively. Our result suggested that this model had a good imitative effect and might be used in goat breeding.4. The genetic diversity was analyzed by7microsatellite markers in a total of150goats. The result showed that the average allele number was7.9. Averages value of Ne, He, PIC were3.636(from2.4777to6.1346),0.6977(0.5964to0.8370), and0.5760(0.5692to0.8185), respectively. This result suggested that the Longlin goat had rich genetic diversity and strong adaptive capacity, which gave out a reference value for conservation and selection.5. Correlations of10microsatellite markers and growth in Longlin goat were analyzed with the general linear model (GLM). The result showed that there were significant correlations both microsatellite markers and growth traits. Microsatellite markers associated with body weight were BM415, IDVGA64, LZD140A, TGLA53, BM1818, CSSM047, ILSTS018, JMP8, and BMC1206. Major genotypes were177/195,246/250,173/173,136/145,254/264,132/151,165/169,120/120,109/109. The dominant alleles in body weight、body height、 body length、heart girth、cannon circumference were195、107、195、163、109, respectively. In conclusion, our results give out some useful molecular markers for early assist selection of growth trait in goat.
