In this study, the volatile aroma components of flue-cured tobacco in5production regions of Sichuan Province were analyzed by gas chromatographic mass spectrometry, and the regional characteristics of volatile aroma components of flue-cured tobacco in different regions were analyzed by the data of GCMS.The specific results of these studies are as follow:1. The significant differences in test results of classified volatile aroma components showed that:there are significant differences in volatile aroma components including neoplytadiene, degradation products of carotenoid, degradation products of cembranoids, degradation products of phenylalanine, and alkaloids, among5production regions.2. The cluster analysis results of classified volatile aroma components showed that:5production regions could be divided into three types, one type included Liangshan and Panzhihua, one type included Luzhou and Yibin, another type included Guangyuan. This result is same as geographical distribution and aroma type of different regions, so it can be able to provide a reference to the regional planning of flue-cured tobacco.3. The spatial distribution map of volatile aroma components was established by spatial analysis, it can be able to display the content distribution.4. The chromatographic fingerprint was established for identifying the samples from5production regions by GCMS, it can be able to identify the samples from geographical regions according to the holistic characteristic.5. Based on the relative content of volatile aroma components,5production regions could be divided into three types. This result is same as geographical distribution and aroma type of different regions, same as 《Tobacco Cropping Regionalization in China》, so it can be able to provide a reference to the regional planning of flue-cured tobacco.6. The OPLS regression analysis results of classified volatile aroma components showed that:geographical factors influence the the relative content of volatile aroma components indirectly, and the effect is more powerfull than breed. 7. The OPLS-DA model was established for identifying the samples from5production regions by GCMS and SIMCA technique, it can be able to identify the samples from geographical regions according to the specific characteristic.8. The specific characteristic substances of5production regions were identified: Cedrol, Norphytane, Phytane, Farnesyl acetone,3,7,11,15-Tetramethyl-2-hexadecene3,7,11,15-,3-(4,8,12-Trimethyltridecyl) furan relate to Guangyuan; Farnesol, Hexa-hydro-farnesol, Neophytadiene relate to Luzhou and Yibin; Nonanoic acid, Indole, Myosmine, Geranyl acetone,6-Methoxy-3-methylbenzofura,2,4-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-, Phenol, Dihydroactinidiolide, Megastigmatrienone C, Tetradecanoic acid relate to Liangshan; Anthracene, Palmitic acid, methyl ester, Kauran-18-al,17-(acetyloxy)-,(4.beta.)-, β-4,8,13-Duvatriene-1,3-Diol,α-4,8,13-Duvatriene-1,3-Diol relate to Panzhihua.9. Research shows that:tree climatic factors including mean temperature, mean precipitation and mean sunshine days in field period(may~september), influence the the relative content of volatile aroma components directly. It can be able to provide a reference to the cultivation of flue-cured tobacco.
