The Research On Plant Landscape Construction Of The Rose Garden

Rosaceae plants has a long history of cultivation in China, its rich cultural heritage and highornamental value won the public’s love. Chinese traditional culture forms specific cultural significanceof certain plants, such as plum blossom symbolizes strong noble, this paper summarized the researchsituation of special categorized plants garden at home and abroad. Combined with the application of theRosaceae plants in China, this paper also studied the traditional culture connotation of them, separatelyfrom the humanistic spirit, poetry and historical legends. Then summarized the traditional landscape’form in China that helps to create more cultural connotation of the plant landscape.Secondly, through the surveys of the rose garden in Shanghai Botanical Garden and ZhejiangAgriculture and Forestry University Botanical Garden, added up plant species composition of the tworose gardens. The former has plants115species, belonging to22families, Rosaceae57species; thelatter has plants126species, belonging to22families, Rosaceae50species. And analyzed ornamentalcharacteristics of the plants, flowering and fruiting plants is the major part of ornamental plants in bothgardens, and the best viewing time is mainly in spring and autumn. Then summarized the use,ornamental characteristics and so on of the main plants in both gardens. Meanwhile this paper analyzedthe advantages and disadvantages of the both gardens based on the investigation, then put forward thesuggestions of optimization.Then, through literature and the results of the investigation, summarized the Rosaceae plant specieswhich commonly used in the rose garden, ornamental features, and garden uses. Combined with avariety of theoretical knowledge above, this paper put forward plant landscape construction law of therose garden, including suitable tree principle, respect the ecological habit of plants; scientific planning,improve artistic expression of landscape; reflect the culture connotation of the Rosaceae plants;emphasizing the rose gardens’ own characteristics; highlight the theme, reasonable configurationprinciple. At the same time this paper discussed the plant landscape layouts of the rose garden, from thegeneral and functional partition layouts, plants selection and landscape layout, and the layouts combinedwith other landscape elements.Finally, based on the related theory mentioned above, and combined with the actual situationthe,completed the design of plant landscapethe of the rose garden in Huzhou Arboretum, to demonstrate thefeasibility of the theory above, it was expected that the study would provide references to the plantinglandscape design for others rose gardens.
