Effect Of Supplemental Acidifiers On Growth Performance, Antioxidant Capacity And Hormone Levels In Weaned Piglets

1804-wk-old weaning piglets were randomly divided into3groups, including anegative control group, the experimental groupⅠand group Ⅱ. The negative controlwas offered feed free of acidifier ad libitum, and the experimental groups wereoffered the same diet ad libitum supplemented with0.1%and0.15%supplementalacidifiers respectively. Each group were randomly divided into three dietarytreatments, each treatment contained20piglets. The piglets were fed four times eachday. Basic diets of the three groups were same during four weeks. The experimentincluded four sections. Part One for feeding. Feed intake, weight gain, average dailygain(ADG), feed efficiency and rate of diarrhoea of each group were measured. PartTwo for blood biochemical test. Detect blood biochemical indexs, including TP, ALB,Glu, ALP, ALT, AST, LDH and AMY. Part Three for serum antioxidant levels,detecting serum T-AOC, SOD, GSH-Px and MDA. Part Four for serum hormonelevels, detecting serum T3, T4and GH. The results were as follows:(1) After14days of diet with0.1%and0.15%supplemental acidifiers, the feedintake and daily gain weight were significantly rised, feed conversion efficiency wasremarkably improved, and the diarrheoa rate was decreased. After28days of diet withfeed acidifiers,0.15%acidifiers added in the diets rised the feed intake and daily gainweight, promoted piglets growth.(2) After28days of diet with feed acidifiers,0.1%acidifiers added in the dietscould increase the total protein and the globulin content of serum.0.1%Acidifiers and0.15%acidifiers added in the diets could rised the activities of ALT and AST.0.1%Acidifiers added in the diets rised the activity of AMY as well. And after28days,0.15%Acidifiers added in the diets rised the activity of AMY. The results indicatedthat the acidifiers could influence the levels of blood biochemical indexs, imrpoveimmune function and consequently improve the growth performance in weaningpiglets． (3) The detection of serum antioxidant indicators showed that, after14days ofdiet with0.1%supplemental acidifiers, the activity of GSH-Px increased. And after28days, the activities of T-AOC and SOD also rised. That indicated that0.1%acidifiersadded in the diets could improve the ability of antioxidation of the piglets.(4) After28days of diet with feed acidifiers, the T4content of serum wasincreased, and the contents of T3and GH were also appeared an improving trend,which were not different respectively. The results indicated that the acidifiers couldinfluence the endocrine level of in piglets, which might play a role by regulatingendocrine.
