Porcine epidemic diarrhea is caused by porcine epidemic diarrhea virus, which can leadto serious viral diseases on newborn piglets. Newborn piglet diarrhea is always the commondisease to pig industry, which is also a bottleneck restricting the development of pig industry. Both intensive pig farms and small and medium-sized pig farms are different degrees of pigletdiarrhea, such as rural households due to the poor conditions, whose illness is more serious.Inrecent years, highly pathogenic pathogenic epidemic diarrhea has significantly enhanced, andit is popular in our country. The disease has led to the deaths of large numbers of piglets.Theillness piglets has almost stunted growth, and making a great loss in pig.The study carries on the pathology observation and molecular biological detection bycollecting ill piglets from three large-scale pig farms in which newborn piglet diarrheahappens, and the farms are respectively located in Zibo, Laiwu and Zhucheng. Lesionsobservation showed that the current popular PEDV strain’s virulence has been significantlyenhanced. There are other pathogen infection or toxic lesions in some cases except thehemorrhagic catarrhal inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract and systemic sepsislesions. The ill piglets are mainly caused by porcine epidemic diarrhea virus infection, somecases also take the swine fever virus and other pathogenic infections through thecomprehensive diagnosis. In order to further understand the causes of the disease, especially related to maternalrisk factors,86sows colostrum were collected in the above three farms since September2012.We established testing methods of detecting the swine fever virus, PorcineReproductive And Respiratory Syndrome Virus, pseudo rabies virus, porcine circovirus, porcine epidemic diarrhea virus, Infectious gastroenteritis virus, epidemic and aflatoxin M1from the colostrum to explore the relevance of colostrum and piglet diarrhea. Besides, inorder to explore the relevance of sows colostrum and antigen and antibodies in piglets serum,we detected and compared6viruses and antibodies of swine fever and pseudo rabies bycollecting umbilical cord blood and colostrum of piglets of7sows. Experimental resultsshowed that the current popular PEDV strain’s virulence has been significantly enhanced. Inaddition to causing serious hemorrhagic catarrhal gastrointestinal inflammation, systemicextensive lesions was observed, other pathogen infection or toxic lesions accompanied insome cases.6kinds of viruses and aflatoxin M1can be detected in the sow colostrum.Between porcine epidemic diarrhea virus, transmissible gastroenteritis and piglets diarrheahad a extremely significant correlation(P<0.01); Between swine fever, pseudorabies and piglets diarrhea had a extremely significant correlation(P<0.01); Between circovirus, porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome and piglets diarrhea had not a significantcorrelation(P>0.05), which can aggravate the degree of diarrhea. In antibody detection ofsow colostrum and the corresponding piglets’ cord blood, sow colostrum contained highlevels of pseudo rabies antibodies and swine fever antibody, but the antibody in cord blood ofpiglets was negative. It also confirmed immune globulin cannot be directly given to the fetusin the womb by the maternal blood due to placental barrier of the pregnant sow.Swine fever, circovirus, pseudorabies, transmissible gastroenteritis, porcine reproductiveand respiratory syndrome、porcine epidemic diarrhea virus, aflatoxin M1were detected in thesow colostrum for the first time. What’s more, we made a comprehensive analysis for therelevance between sows colostrum with virus and piglets diarrhea. The results showed that wemust take the sow with virus and mycotoxin contamination in forage, on the other hand, italso provides a new thought and theory basis to study the transmission way of piglet diarrheaand related diseases.
