Comparison Of The Quality Of Tobacco Leaves Between Brazil And China Major Production Areas

This study selected flue-cured tobacco leaves form Rio Grande do Sul of Brazil (hereinafter referred to as:Brazil) as the test material, and tobacco leaves form Yunnan(delicate flavor style producing area), Henan(strong flavor style producing area) and Guizhou (medium flavor style producing area)were also used. The tobacco leaf quality difference in physical traits, aroma, chemical test, endoplasmic smoking, mineral elements aspects and so on were compared. The results showed as following:1.In the aspect of unblended cigarette smoking, the B2F level of tobacco leaves from Brazil is significantly better than the other three areas in tobacco aroma quality and quantity, strength, concentration, and its total score ranked also was first. The Yunnan tobacco leaves of C3F level was significantly better than the other three regions in aroma quality and quantity, the mixed gas, stimulation, and Brazil tobacco leaves was in the third row. There was so little difference in the intrinsic quality of X2F level form four tobacco areas, and tobacco leaves from Yunan was slightly better than other areas.2.In the content of aroma substances in neutral. The tobacco leaves of B2F rating form Brazil area neutral significantly higher than other three areas in aroma substance conten, followed by Yunnan, the content of Guizhou and Henan was relatively low. In C3F, the tobacco leaves of Yunnan is higher in cembranoids and chromoplast pigment content, the content of aroma components was in the first row. In the X2F rating, Brazil ranked first, Yunnan second, and Guizhou, Henan was minimum.3.In the mineral elements. Four elements consisting of copper, manganese, zinc, calcium in tobacco leaves of B2F grade form Brazil was in line with the standards of high quality tobacco, whereas, iron and magnesium indicators were below the high-quality tobacco, and there was slight difference in potassium indexes compared with high-quality tobacco. The content of copper, manganese, zinc, calcium, potassium in Brazil were in line with the standard of high quality tobacco in C3F grade flue-cured tobacco leaves, but iron and magnesium indicators also were lower than the quality tobacco. In X2F grade, the order in manganese content was Brazil> Yunnan> Guizhou> Henan, the potassium content was Yunnan> Henan> Brazil> Guizhou, zinc content was Yunnan> Henan> Brazil> Henan, and calcium content was Henan> Brazil> Yunnan> Guizhou. The content of manuanes and potassium in Brazil tobacco was the highest in the four regions, the above four elements content only in Brazil were suitable at the standard range.4.In the physical traits, the order in Stem ratio of X2F grade was Brazil>Yunnan> Guizhou>Henan, the equilibrium moisture content was Guizhou> Yunnan> Brazil> Henan, Leaf weight was Yunnan>Henan>Brazil>Guizhou, and leaf thickness was Guizhou>Brazil>Henan>Yunnan. In X2F grade, the order in Stem ratio was Henan>Guizhou>Yunan>Brazil, the equilibrium moisture content was Guizhou>Brazil>Henan>Yunnan, and leaf thickness was Yunnan>Guizhou>Brazil> Henan. In X2F grade, the order in anti tension was Brazil> Henan>Yunnan> Guizhou, and in leaf weight was Yunnan> Henan> Brazil> Guizhou.5.In the chemical aspect, the total sugar and reducing sugar of Brazil tobacco were in the first row in B2F grade, and the nicotine and total nitrogen content were significantly higher than those in the other three regions, in addition, the ratio of total sugar to nicotine and the ratio of nitrogen to nicotine were also in the standard range of high quality tobacc Each index in Yunnan tobacco leaves was moderate, and the total sugar and reducing sugar was relatively low in Guizhou. In C3F level of Brazil, the total sugar and reducing sugar was moderate, the nicotine and total nitrogen is higher than high quality tobacco leaves, and the ratio of sugar to nicotine was in the range of high quality tobacco leaves. The tobacco leaves of Yunnan reached high-quality tobacco standard in the total sugar and reducing sugar, and nicotine and total nitrogen is moderate, the overall quality was best. The tobacco leaves of Guizhou and Henan was lower in total sugar,reducing sugar, whereas, the nicotine and total nitrogen was medium.6.In X2F grade, the differences between the four areas were small. The overall quality of Yunnan tobacco is slightly higher than the other three regions.The total sugar and reducing sugar in Brazil tobacco is slightly lower, and nicotine and total nitrogen is moderate, the ration of sugar to nicotine was in the standard range of high quality tobacco. The reducing sugar content in tobacco leaves of Guizhou is moderate, and the nicotine was in the range of moderate to low.
