Research On The Plant Landscape Of Rhododendron

Rhododendron is one of the most traditional flowers in our country, and our country is the mostrich country of world’s Rhododendron plant species. In modern landscape architecture, special gardenof Rhododendron and plant landscape with Rhododendron as the theme have been widely used.Summarizing previous practical experience through in-depth investigation of Rhododendron plantlandscape can provide reference for the construction of Rhododendron special garden orRhododendron plant landscape.The thesis chose the Rhododendron natural plant communities in scenic area, Rhododendronspecial garden and the plant landscape of Rhododendron in green parks as research objects, fieldresearch and case analysis as methods. The paper introduced11scenic areas’ overview ofRhododendron natural plant landscape in scenic area, focused analysis on Rhododendron plantlandscape of Hubei Macheng Turtle Mountain Scenic Area and Tiantai Mountain Scenic Area ofHuading scenic, pointed out their problems. In the paper,59representative cases about Rhododendronplant landscape selected in Rhododendron special gardens and green parks were summarized toconclude plant configuration mode from deep analysis of their plant community structure, speciescomposition, seasonal characteristics, scientific, artistic, and the cultivation methods ofRhododendron. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The plant landscape of Rhododendron features mainly reflected in three aspects: distinctregional characteristics, rich color changes and seasonal characteristics, diverse application forms andspace levels. In practical applications, there existed some problems, such as: designers lack ofunderstanding the Rhododendron’s ecological habits, the monotonous landscape in summer andwinter, less integration into the regional characteristics and culture, single plant species.(2)This paper made the following recommendations with the construction of Rhododendron plantlandscape: Firstly, creating the ecological environment which is benefit to plant’s growth according tolocal conditions; Secondly, paying attention to color matching, florescence linking up, as well asseasonal characteristics; Thirdly, reflecting the high degree unity of the scientific and artistic beauty;Fourthly, paying attention to the historical cultural heritage and geographical characteristics; Fifthly,reflecting the dual unity of economic principles and landscape management. (3) Analyzing from the plant species composition and configuration modes, the commonconfiguration plant species of Rhododendron plant landscape mainly included58kinds of upperplants,68kinds of mid-level plants and47kinds of lower plants.
