Study On Diverse Landscape In The Rhododendron Garden

Rhododendron is one of ten famous traditional flowers in China.It is universally recognized as one of the famous pot flowers with a high value of quality,and has a major impact on the world’s landscape as a representative garden plants.Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,some representative Rhododendron gardens have been built.However,compared with the speciazed gardens of the Europe and the America countries,there are still a lot of space to be improved for our Rhododendron gardens.On the other hand,there are a lot of wild Rhododendron resources in Qinling Mountains,Shaanxi area.And it is a pity that we have no Rhododendron garden which can protect wild Rhododendron resources.The method and the theory of the diversified landscapes in Rhododendron gardens are summarized in this study,through the inductive analysis of the literature study,questionnaire diagnoses,and the cases study.Then the feasibility of the Rhododendron Garden construction in Qinling Mountains National Botanical Garden is discussed.Main results are obtained as follows:1.With a study on the history and cultivation of Rhododendron in Chinese garden as well as foreign garden,Rhododendron has enormous potential that could be used in our landscape construction in the future.2.It can be seen that vernacular landscapes and unique visual space could be built in Rhododendron gardens,through the study of Rhododendron’s characteristics,Landscaping ability and application value,with the analysis of garden space art.3.Based on the analysis of questionnaire,it seems that lots of people do not know Rhododendron and Rhododendron landscapes well.Most people prefer a landscape with characteristics of beauty,nature,pageantry and rich colors.So it is necessary to build Rhododendron gardens and create diversified Rhododendron landscapes.4.After analysing the feasibility of the Rhododendron Garden construction in Qinling Mountains National Botanical Garden,we can see that the environment in Qinling Mountains National Botanical Garden is suitable for Rhododendron growing.And it is suitable place for the building of Rhododendron gardens,with diversified Rhododendron landscapes.
