In order to optimize bulk curing process and improve the quality ofcured tobacco leaves. In2010~2012at Qujing Yunnan, Guizhou Bijie, ChangshaHunan and other places, the effects of different humidity and highest temperaturedrying conditions on the quality of cured tobacco leaves were studied. Analyzed thevariability between appearance quality, chemical composition, physical properties, sensory quality and the aroma substances of different treatments tobacco leaves, andits effects on quality of cured tobacco leaves were comprehensive evaluated toexplore the local optimum specifications of drying temperature and humidity. Themain results were as follows:1. Drying humidity was important for the formation of tobacco appearancequality, chemical composition, physical properties and sensory.①For Hunan region, suitable humidity for central leaves:54~60℃, wet bulb temperature of39±0.5℃(relative humidity41.80%to27.38%);60~68℃, wet bulb temperature of42±0.5℃(relative humidity36.78%to22.18%),cured tobacco leaves had moreorange leaves, good maturity, loose structure, status of medium, adequate aromaquantity and little irritation; suitable humidity for upper leaves:54~60℃, wet bulbtemperature39±0.5℃(relative humidity41.80%to27.38%);60~68℃, wetbulb temperature43±0.5℃(relative humidity39.38%to23.92%), cured tobaccoleaves had optimal quality, mainly reflected in sensory quality, aroma quantity areplentiful and less offensive taste in cured tobacco.②For Yunnan region, suitablehumidity for central leaves:54~60℃, wet bulb temperature40±0.5℃(relativehumidity44.85%to29.59%);60~68℃, wet bulb temperature of42±0.5℃(relative humidity36.78%to22.18%) cured tobacco leaves have moderate tensile, adequate aroma quantity, little irritation, less offensive taste; suitable humidity forupper leaves:54~60℃, wet bulb temperature40±0.5℃(relative humidity44.85%to29.59%);60~68℃, wet bulb temperature43±0.5℃(relative humidity39.38%to23.92%) cured tobacco have moderate nicotine content, totalsugar/nicotine and total nitrogen/nicotine are appropriate, the aftertaste wascomfortable and less offensive taste.③For Guizhou region, suitable humidity forcentral leaves:54~60℃, wet bulb temperature39±0.5℃(relative humidity41.80%to27.38%);60~68℃, wet bulb temperature of42±0.5℃, relativehumidity36.78%to22.18%), cured tobacco leaves have more orange leaves, loosestructure, aftertaste and comfortable; suitable humidity for upper leaves:54~60℃,wet bulb temperature40±0.5℃(relative humidity44.85%to29.59%);60~68℃, wet bulb temperature43±0.5℃(relative humidity39.38%to23.92%)curedtobacco have moderate nicotine content, total nitrogen/nicotine are appropriate.2. Drying process highest temperature affect the content of aroma substances, tobacco leaves of different region for dry highest temperature have certain variance, and smoking quality of tobacco leaves are not identical. Qujing in Yunnan, BijieGuizhou, Changsha Hunan three pilot, dry bulb temperature of63+0.5~64+/-0.5℃, cured tobacco aroma substances have the highest levels. But in terms of smokingquality of tobacco leaves, graduated from Changsha Hunan, Qujing in Yunnan andGuizhou region by67±0.5~68±0.5℃、65±0.5~66±0.5℃and63±0.5~64±0.5℃advisable, cured tobacco had adequate aroma quantity, little irritation, lessoffensive taste and aftertaste and comfortable.
