Research On Landscape Design Of The Roadside Green Space

With the rapid development of our city, the original natural environment has been destroyed, the population of the city is increasing sharply, and the city is expanding gradually, therefore, it makes people more and more far from the natural environment. For the environment has been polluted and life rhythm has been speeded up, the urban residents become more deeply aware of the importance of green spaces. Because of their small size, convenience, ornamental value, recreation and ecological environmental protection, they are favored by urban residents, and become an important complement to city parks and other recreational open space. The roadside green spaces of Lingling District are in the planning and under consturction to meet the needs of city residents. The paper focused on the study of landscape design of the roadside green spaces which are in Lingling District of Yongzhou, in order to guide green environment construction in Yongzhou, and creating a beautiful, comfortable city public green environment for people. Through the study of typical cases, it summed up the main problems of current city street landscape design, proposed the general methods of city street landscape design, and discussed how to building a unique city roadside green space landscape. Based on the research in the related fields, through the field investigation and analysis of8typical roadside green spaces in Lingling District of Yongzhou, it summarized the problems of the existing landscape, reformed the detailed landscape scheme of eight roadside green spaces. The main research achievements are as follows:(1) Through field investigations of eight roadside green spaces in Lingling District of Yongzhou City, it analyzed the characteristics of existing landscape, then summarized its advantages and disadvantages. Through Mathematical statistics of the survey questionnaires which had been carried on the eight roadside green spaces, it analyzed the respondents’gender and age, the users’activity rule(the using time period, reaching time, average cost of time), the purposes and the feelings in space. It got the evaluation and improvement of people on the existing roadside green spaces’ landscape through the form of questionnaire.(2) Based on the field investigations and the questionnaire surveys, through analyzing, it summarized five main problems of existing landscape of roadside green space in Lingling District of Yongzhou City:lacking of humanization design, lacking of city regional characteristic landscape, lacking of functional landscape, lacking of characteristic plant landscape and lacking of maintenance and management. To solve these problems, it put forward four methods of landscape design of roadside green spaces in Lingling District of Yongzhou, which are as follows:focusing on humanization design, combining with local cultural characteristics of the city, considering the functional properties of roadside green space, creating multi-functional plant landscape.(3) Studying on the landscape design of typical cases. Respectively with the different roadside green space environment, area, landform, the existing landscape characteristic and so on, it proposed the landscape design scheme of eight roadside green spaces, which are the Small Garden next to Overpass, Age of the Sun Small Garden, the Small Garden next to the Yongzhou NO.1Middle School, the South Ferry Crossing Small Garden, the Yang Ming Avenue Small Garden, the Kangji Avenue Small Garden, the Bright New Road Small Garden, the Lychee East Road Small Garden. Through analyzing their boundaries and entrances, the roads and landscape nodes, landscape structures and landscape art pieces, basic facilities and plant configuration, it proposed the specific landscape design scheme.With the rapid development of the society and the continuous development of the city, the connotation and meaning of urban roadside green spaces will be changing constantly. To adapt to the social development, the landscape designers in the future should pay more attention to the cultural leisure of the roadside green spaces, the design of barrier free details, the image of three-dimensional landscape, dynamic image of landscape and so on, and strive to create the urban green space environment with humanistic care to meet the public demands.
