Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma is gained from rhizome ofAtractylodes macrocephala Koidz, the generality of which are cultivation. Ithas many efficacy, such as strengthening spleen, benefiting vital energy, eliminating dampness, hidroschesis, soothing fetus and so on. It is widely usedin clinical application and commonly used in more than50kinds ofprescription in internal medicine. In recent years, domestic demand forAtractylodis is significant increasing and is almost forefront of popularvarieties among40kinds of bulk herbs.Atractylodis produced in Zhejiang, Anhui and so on. It is the best qualitywhich produced in Zhejiang that we call it “Yuzhu” historically. In addition,Atractylodis also produced in Hebei Anguo, Hunan, Hubei and so on. Manyareas of the country have carried out the introduction and cultivation ofAtractylodis including some non-authentic producing areas. However, thequality of Atractylodis has large differences which are related with origin, topography, climate, soil and other ecological factors. Thus,we conduct acultivated suitability analysis from two aspects of terrain and climate for thecountry’s five provinces in the main producing areas. We identified therelationship between atractylodis lactones ingredient content and ecologicalenvironment and can improve quality of Atractylodis from the source. Thereby,it can ensure the quality of Atractylodis stability and excellent.About qualitative identification of Atractylodis,2010edition ofPharmacopoeia only use TLC of Atractylone as qualitative indicators. However, the melting point of Atractylone is low that at room temperature forvolatile oil and unstable nature when exposed to heat or light that easilydecomposition atractylenolide I and atractylenolide III. Atractylodis lactonesingredient is the active ingredients of Atractylodis and is also the characteristicingredients. Especially atractylenolide I and atractylenolide III have significant pharmacological activity and stable chemical properties whichreference is also easy to obtain. So, Atractylodis lactones ingredient contentcan be used to the main indicators as quality control of Atractylodis. Objective:By sampling and process from five main producing provinces of thecountry, we use HPLC to measure the content of atractylenolide I andatractylenolide III as the indicator for quality control. Then, we werecultivated regionalization from both topography and climate of five mainproducing provinces of the country. In order to identify the relationshipbetween atractylodis lactones ingredient content and ecological environmentthat provide a basis of Atractylodis cultivation.Methods:1sampling,process and measure the content of atractylenolide I andatractylenolide III(1)Sampling: We collect40fresh samples from five main producingprovinces of the country. The harvest time was November and the harvest sitewere rhizome.(2)Process: We made40samples processing according to the method ofauthentic producing areas uniformly.(3)Measure the content of atractylenolide I and atractylenolide III:Measure the content of atractylenolide I and atractylenolide III by HPLC.2Based on the topographical and climatic factors of suitabilityregionalization of Atractylodis(1)Maxent: According to geographical information of five provinces fortysampling points and the national three topographical factor data and19climatic factor data, using the maxent calculate habitat suitability ofAtractylodis.(2) Based on the topographical factors of suitability regionalization ofAtractylodis: Use SPSS to correlation analysis among atractylodis lactonesingredient content and altitude, slope, aspect while analysis the effect of thetopographical factors. Use ArcGIS to regionalization according to suitability of topographical factors.(3) Based on the climatic factors of suitability regionalization ofAtractylodis: Use SPSS to step regression analysis of climatic factors, selectthe dominant climatic factors which impact atractylodis lactones ingredientcontent while analysis the effect of the climatic factors. Use ArcGIS toregionalization according to suitability of climatic factors.Results:1Measure the content of atractylenolide I and atractylenolide III:Wemeasured the content of atractylenolide I is0.0131mg/g-0.7280mg/g, thecontent of atractylenolide III is0.0263mg/g-1.2992mg/g。2Based on the topographical and climatic factors of suitabilityregionalization of Atractylodis:(1)Maxent: Use Maxent compute one million times for topographical andclimatic factors separately. Select greatest impact on3topographic factors and8climatic factors for Atractylodis habitat suitability.(2) Based on the topographical factors of suitability regionalization ofAtractylodis: When the altitude is greater than500m,301-400m and401-500m, content of atractylodis lactones ingredient is the highest. When thealtitude is less than100m, content of atractylodis lactones ingredient is theminimum. When the slope is3.00-4.99degrees, content of atractylodislactones ingredient is the highest. When the slope is0-0.99degree, content ofatractylodis lactones ingredient is the minimum.(3) Based on the climatic factors of suitability regionalization ofAtractylodis: Climatic factors obtained after stepwise regression analysiswhich has statistically significant climatic factors are average temperature ofthe warmest season, average temperature of the driest season, precipitation ofthe wettest month. When average temperature of the warmest season is below25℃,content of atractylodis lactones ingredient is the highest,When averagetemperature of the warmest season is26-27℃, content of atractylodis lactonesingredient is the minimum. When average temperature of the driest season isgreater than10℃, content of atractylodis lactones ingredient is the highest. When average temperature of the driest season is0-5℃, content ofatractylodis lactones ingredient is the minimum. When precipitation of thewettest month is220-230mm, content of atractylodis lactones ingredient is thehighest. When precipitation of the wettest month is200-220mm,content ofatractylodis lactones ingredient is the minimum.Conclusion:1Through research above, we conclude the most suitable topographicaland climatic condition for cultivation of Atractylodis:altitude200metersabove,slope3-5degrees,the wettest month precipitation220-230mm,thewarmest average temperature25℃,the average temperature of driest season10℃.2The result of the most suitable area of Atractylodis cultivation coincidewith traditional authentic producing areas. If other areas plan to promoteAtractylodis cultivation, they should select the ecological factors which arehigh similar with the most suitable conditions in order to ensure the quality ofAtractylodis.
