With its rich nutrition and good health care effect, corn becomes more and more popular.The rapid increasing demand for corn prompt the corn processing enterprises to grow upquickly. At the same time, the corn ear grading based on their weight plays an important rolein a variety of corn processing. However, the weight grading has been achieved manually inchina, which has drawbacks such as inefficiency, low accuracy and high labor intensity.Under this background, we conducted a study on conveyor automatic corn weightgrading machine. In this paper, the following works are completed.First, we make the overall design of the grader. According to the overall design, thegrader is divided into weighing unit, grading unit, the control unit and the delivery unit. Weintroduce the operational principle of the grader. The weighing principle and the gradingprinciple of the grader are analyzed in detail.Second, in order to achieve the function of automatic weighing and automatic grading,we design hardware circuit and software programming of the grader. Then we complete thehardware and software debugging.Third, we put forward three indicators to assess the performance of the grader: weighingaccuracy, grading accuracy and grading rate. We conduct theoretical study and experimentalstudy on weighing accuracy, grading accuracy and grading rate of grader. Then based onexperimental results we conclude that the grader we designed can meet the needs of practicalproduction.
