Peach is one of the main fruit trees in Hebei Province.It occupies an importantposition in the national economy of the all province.The area and output of the peachin Hebei Province ranking first in the country,Hebei Province is the goods base forthe whole nation’s fruits market supplies.The largest cultivated area of peach product in Hebei Province is ‘Okubo’peach.The fruit of ‘Okubo’ peach is sweetness and crisp,with high chromaticity andrich nutrition.The fruit ripes at the end of July to the early August every year,belongs to late variety of peach,and highly popular at home and abroad.But in thecultivation process of ‘Okubo’,varieties of degradation phenomenon has becomeincreasingly serious,such as the top of the fruit ripe first,suture softening,Cracknuclear,tasteless,the poor leakage resistance and so on.In order to solve the shortcomings ’Okubo’ peach exists, our group chose ’Okubo’peach as parents, targeted, using the method of the west breeding, to carry out a seriesof targeted, large-scaled breeding work of new varieties of ’Okubo’ peach. The aim ofthe breeding work is to choose a series of new varieties which is similar to the fruittraits of ’Okubo’ peach but overcome the shortcomings. Up to2008,we haveprimaried803strains from more than ten thousand seedling plants The first batch ofexcellent strains of the test has compared and further screening in the nursery ofMancheng County in Baoding, aiming to first select a number of excellent focusstrains and approval as a new species finally.In this paper, we have had a detailed comparison of the37fruit traits and habitsof growth of18excellent strains and chosen a excellent focus strain C10-2,which isbetter than ’Okubo’ peach. We named his new excellent strain as jiumi and Summedup the cultivation techniques.The ’jiumi’ peach belongs to medium variety and matures on July30in Baoding.The size of ’jiumi’Peach is relatively large, with an average weight of263g. Theshape of fruit is round with good fruit shape and the top is round and flat. The various parts of the fruit ripening consistency and no cracking phenomenon can be seen. Thecolor of the fruit is bright, With high chromaticity(90%~100%). The pulp isnon-solute and the color is white The red pigment can be found near peel and seeds.sticky core, no crack nucleation. The fruit tastes moderately sweet and sour and hashoney sweetness and thick aroma. The fruit hardness is13.5kg/cm2.The tree posture of ’jiumi’ peach is upright and grows well. Long, medium andshort branches may result, but the main results of the branches are long and mediumbranches.’jiumi’ Peach belongs to the northern varieties group. Because ’jiumi’ Peachhas no pollen, pollination tree needs to be configured when build gardens.’jiumi’Peach has high yield and the abscission of fruits is less before picking. In the4m×5m spacing, every tree produce65~80kg, which equal to2210~2720kg per acre.The average yield per acre is2500kg, which more than90%are good product.The fruit of ’jiumi’ Peach can be stored and transported long. It can be storedover8days at room temperatureand more than20days at low temperatures(4℃). Thefruit flavor changes little after storage.Combining with the varietal characteristic of ’jiumi’ Peach, we propose amatched technical measures,which is about the garden site selection, aspects of theconfiguration tree pollination, planting density, pruning, fruit management and pestcontrol, etc.
