In this work, according to large seedling reproductive population of walnutproduction, large variation between individual plant and the actual situation of thelow degree of walnut production variety in Yanshan mountain area, walnut seedlingselection study was carried out in the limestone region of southern Qianxi County(include Xing cheng, Yinzhuang, Donglianhuayuan, and Xinzhuangzi). The highyield and good quality walnut strains seeding and utilization were explored bymorphological characteristics, biological characteristics and quality characteristicdeterminations. The main results are as follows:1. The fine walnut strains named “Qianxi No.1” was selected from the limestoneareas in southern Qianxi County with kernel rate and protein content more than55.7%and23.7%respectively.2. The optimum grafting method of Walnut in limestone area of Qianxi County issquare budding, and the optimum grafting period is form mid June to late July. Thegrafting survival rate is above90%. The budding technique of young walnut trees wassummarized.3. Determine the walnuts in east section of Yanshan limestone areas suitable forharvest time,It is better to harvest in a week after the White Dew to ensure theplumpness of walnut kernel.4. The technical regulation about the excellent seed planting, dense planting,early fruit and harvest of the walnut in limestone area was summarized to harvest inthree years after planting, and to realize average57.37kg yield per mu in four years.This will be greatly promoting the development of walnut industry, agriculture benefit,and farmer income.
