The Clinical Observation And The Pathogenesis Of The Jia-ji Electro-acupuncture Combined With Lumbago Granules On Lumbar Disc Herniation

Lumbar disc herniatinon is a disease caused by the broken of part of annular fibrosus, the nucleus pulposus outwardly bulge from the broken of annulus f ibrosus to compress the spinal nerve root or the cauda equina nerve with a result of neurological dysfunction disorder and pain. This research was divided into two parts. One was about the clinical evaluation of the Electro-acupuncture combined with Yaotong mixture on lumbar disc herniation. The another was about the influence of the Electro-acupuncture combined with Yaotong mixture on neurological dysfunction and pain threshold of autologous nucleus pulposus transplanted rat.The clinical observation:Objective:This research combined the theory of traditional acupuncture and the clinical experience.In clinics, the clinical evaluation of the Jia-ji Electro-acupuncture combined with Lumbago granules on lumbar disc herniation patients was observed. The clinical effect of the Jia-ji Electro-acupuncture combined with Lumbago granules on lumbar disc herniation were summarized to explore the mechanism and provide the evidence for the clinical treatment of lumbar disc herniation. Method:Fourty eight patients of Lumbar disc herniatinon selected with strict inclusion and exclusion standard were divided into the treatment group (the Jia-ji Electro-acupuncture combined with Lumbago granules group) and the control group(the Jia-ji Electro-acupuncture group). The treatment group was treated with the Jia-ji Electro-acupuncture combined with Lumbago granules. The control group was treated with the Jia-ji Electro-acupuncture. The changes of ODI (the Oswestry disablity Index), VAS (Visual Analogue Scale) were observed before and after treatment. Result:Compared with before treatment, the ODI and the VAS scores were significantly reduced after treatment in the treatment group and the control group, while it was more obvious in the the treatment group. And there was statistically significant between the two group. Conclud:The treatment of the Jia-ji Electro-acupuncture combined with Lumbago granules group could be a better therapy for clinical treatment of Lumbar disc herniatinon, and it was more significant than the simple treatment such as the EA or the tradionnal medicine.The experimental study:Objective:This research combined the theory of traditional acupuncture the clinical experience. In the experiment,through the model of autologous nucleus pulposus transplanted rat,the influence of Jia-ji Electro-acupuncture combined with Lumbago granules in neurological dysfunction and pain threshold were observed. The experimental effect of the Jia-ji Electro-acupuncture combined with Lumbago granules on lumbar disc herniation were summarized to explore the mechanism and provide the evidence of the clinical treatment of lumbar disc herniation. Method: Sprague-Dawley rats of transplanted autologous nucleus pulposus (n=48) were divided into the acupuncture and medicine group (the Jia-ji Electro-acupuncture combined with Lumbago granules group), the Electro-acupuncture group、the Lumbago granules group、 the Yaotongning group、the sham operation group and the control group. After the operation succeed, the rats were given the treatment of the Electro-acupuncture Jia-ji acupoint combined with Lumbago mixture,the Electro-acupuncture Jia-ji acupoint,the Lumbago granules and Yaotongning respectively, and the sham operation group and the control group with no treatment. The changes of behavior of rats, the BBB score (the Basso, Beattie, Bresnahan locomotor rating scale) and the pain threshold were observed before surgery, before treatment and after treatment. Result:After treatment, the BBB score and the pain threshold were significantly decreased in the Jiaji EA combined with Lumbago granules group, the electro-acupuncture group、the Lumbago granules group and the Yaotong Ning group in different degrees.There was statistically signifi-cant between the acupunture and medicine group and the andthe EA group, and the same as the Lumbago granules group and the Yaotongning group. Conclud:The nucleus pulposus was one of the reason which caused the pain and neurological dysfunction of lumbar disc herniation. Jia-ji Electro-acupuncture combined with Lumbago granules could improve the neurological dysfunction of lumbar disc herniation, and it could relieve the pain caused by lumbar disc herniation.
