Objective This paper aims to explore the rules and possible problems which exist in Anhui children physical development through describing and analyzing the constitution and physical development level of children aged7-18in2005and2010respectively, and to provide the foundation for children’s development and health education in Anhui.Method The article utilizes the data, information and methods from National Physical Health Research Project of Students in2005and2010, which selects16141students (7200students for2005and8941students for2010) aged from7to18in Anhui province as the object of study. With the application of stratified-cluster sampling, the students are stratified by grades and randomly sampled in clusters by teaching classes, and then we establish a database by SPSS16.0to make a descriptive statistical analysis. Analysis indicators cover:morphological index (including height, weight and chest), physiological function index (including pulse and vital capacity) and physical index (including50meters run, standing long jump,50meters×8shuttle run,800meters run,1000meters run, inclined body, pull-ups, sit-ups and body bending). Results Compared with the samples in2005, the physical development of Anhui children aged7-18in2010can be described as follows:1. The growth and development of2010samples’physical shape has been improved in a certain degree, and the differences in all age groups between urban and rural children are statistically significant (P<0.05). In the order of urban boys, rural boys, urban boys, rural girls, the ranges of growth rate of height in all age groups are:-0.04%-2.28%,0.91%-4.76%,-0.43%-2.31%,0.05%-4.79%; the ranges of growth rate of weight in all age groups are:2.12%-13.22%,4.73%-20.59%,-2.0%-10.72%,0.12%-18.94%; the ranges of growth rate of chest in all age groups are:-1.95%-4.36%,0.13%-6.40%,0.87%-3.85%,1.45%-4.74%; the ranges of growth rate of BMI in all age groups are:1.99%-8.40%,2.96%-11.95%,-1.42%-5.46%,0.75%-8.80%; the range of growth rate of Weierweike in all age groups are:-0.20%-5.12%,1.10%-7.01%,0.05%-3.76%,0.75%-5.23%.2. The growth of2010samples’ physical function has declined, and the differences in all age groups between urban and rural children are statistically significant (P<0.05). In the order of urban boys, rural boys, urban boys, rural girls, the ranges of growth rate of pulse in all age groups are:1.91%-10.06%,-4.61%-2.25%,-0.70%-5.88%,6.32%-3.89%; the ranges of growth rate of vital capacity in all age groups are:10.80%--2.00%,-21.30%--4.70%,-16.90%--2.00%,-9.80%-3.80%; the ranges of growth rate of FVC weight in all age groups are:-17.10%-5.50%,21.70%-4.70%,-21.33%-6.51%,-19.70%-7.50%.3. As for2010samples’ physical condition, there is an obvious improvement in flexibility, but the other aspects have all declined in a certain degree, and the differences in all age groups between urban and rural children are statistically significant (P<0.05). In the order of urban boys, rural boys, urban boys, rural girls, the ranges of average growth rate of sprint results in all age groups are:—3.03%-7.93%,2.88%-27.44%,-18.07%-4.31%,-4.05%-4.08%; the ranges of average growth rate of Long-distance run results from7to12are:-0.55%-6.06%,2.13%-8.26%,-1.92-2.26%,-3.39%-1.95%; the ranges of average growth rate of Long-distance race results from13to18are:3.16%-0.49%,-8.79%-3.03%,-8.02%-0.48%,-2.11%-6.25%; the ranges of average growth rate of the lower-limb explosive strength test results in all age groups are:-5.81%-0.32%,-2.84%-5.62%,-3.16%-3.85%,-1.40%-3.65%; the ranges of average growth rate of the muscle strength test results from7to12are:-22.32%-47.19%,-12.85%-28.62%,-31.5%--10.78%,-24.81%-2.62%; the ranges of average growth rate of the muscle strength test results from13to18are:-21.47%-15.13%,-12.70%-56.63%,-37.04%--17.89%,-16.80%--32.00%; the ranges of average growth rate of flexibility test results in all age groups are:-0.51%-43.71%,-8.43%-48.67%,3.45%-45.08%,3.45%-45.08%.Conclusion The indicators used in this article can truly display the general condition of children’s physical development. We can see an improvement in growth and development of physical shape and body symmetry for2010samples through the comparison with2005samples.The physical function and some aspects of physical condition have declined for most of the children in different age groups. Meanwhile, imbalanced development still exists among shape, function and condition.
