[Objective]To investigate the efficacy of manipulative reduction treatment of each type of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, the results of treatment by appropriate repositioning maneuvers.[Method]102patients with each type of BPPV diagnosed and treated from August2012to January2013were selected in the E.N.T.department of First People’s Hospital of Yunnan Province, retrospective analysis of the clinical datas and follow-up cases. We used SPSS17.0of statistical software to analyse the datas, compare the efficacy of posterior canal involvement BPPV in different methods of treatment, analyse the efficacy with other type of BPPV, include horizonial canal involvement BPPV, superior canal involvement BPPV, subjective BPPV.[Result]Patients of Posterior canal involvement BPPV were randomly divided into2grous and treated with canalith respositioning procedure and Semont liberatory maneuver, respectively. The efficacy of one day later ang seven days later, the f-ormer group was higher than the later one. According to the statistical analysis, the two group had no apparent statistical deviation. The effective power one day later of the co-ntrol group was10.6%, the effective power seven days later of the control group was42.1%, in the same period, the effective power of the control group was low-er than the former two groups. Comparing it with the former two group, it had apparent statistical deviation, P<0.05. Reccurence of the three gro-ups was like this, control group (21.1%)>Semont group(12.5%)>Epley group (6.8%). The ef-fective power of horizonial canal involvement BPPV was80.0%next day, seven days later and three months later. Superior canal involvement BPPV was100%. In the same period, the effective power of the subjective group was lower than the Epley group.[Conclution]In regard to Patients of BPPV, the positioning maneuver is the golden key to the dia-gnosis. After the BPPV types and the affected side were determined, the appro-priate repositioning maneuvers were chosen and performed. To Pati-ents of horizonial and superior canal involvement BPPV, they also can get great efficacy. Our data sug-gest that the canalith repositioning provides safe, handy and effective treatment in the majority of patients with BPPV, and was in fact r-esponsible for the resolu-tion of symptoms.
