Objective To explore the expressions of the KAI1and COX-2in laryngeal squamouscell carcinoma, and the relevance of the two discussed with lymph node metastasis. MethodsDetected by immunohistochemistry(SP) in45cases confirmed by pathology in patients withlaryngeal squamous cell carcinoma of the throat mucosa and10normal volunteers, theexpression of KAI1and COX-2in it. To analyze both the degree of differentiation inlaryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, clinical stage, lymph node metastasis of carcinoma of thedifferences and correlation. The expression of both the level and intensity of clinical featuresassociated with the cases the links between and analysis between these two genes in laryngealsquamous cell carcinoma of the correlation. Results KAI1in laryngeal squamous cellcarcinoma was lower than in normal mucosal tissue of the throat (χ2=8.86, P <0.01), Therewas no significant relationship in age, gender, degree of differentiation, clinical stage andlymph node metastasis, but the intensity of expression with clinical stage and lymph nodemetastasis is significantly correlated (P <0.05). COX-2gene in laryngeal squamous cellcarcinoma is highly expressed in normal mucosa with low expression of the throat, thedifference was significant (P <0.01). The expression of COX-2in laryngeal squamous cellcarcinoma was closely ralated to clinical stage and lymph node metastasis (P <0.05), but notto gender, age and histological grade. KAI1and COX-2in laryngeal squamous cell carcinomawas negatively correlated (correlation coefficient r=-0.30, P<0.05). Conclusion KAI1expression in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma with metastasis and reduced or lost, indicating that the occurrence of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, the development processhas a certain inhibitory effect, predict the future as indicators of metastatic potential of tumorcells; COX-2in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, expression of the development process, also in the process that may play a role in promoting the future can also be used as detectionof tumor cells and the metastatic potential of one of the indicators.
