Objective:To measure the elastic functions of dorsalis pedis arteries in type2diabetic patients with different course by echo-tracking and ultrasonic elastography, and discuss the relationship with strain rate ratio(B/A),ankle-brachial index(ABI) and intima-media thickness(IMT),evaluate their application value of elastic functions of dorsalis pedis arteries in type2diabetic patients.Methods:35healthy volunteers were selected as control group.83patients with type2diabetes were choosed as T2DM group,T2DM group were divided into two groups by disease course (disease course<10years,43cases, DM-Ⅰ group; disease course≥10years,40cases, DM-Ⅱgroup).In all subject, measured intima-media thickness(IMT) of dorsalis pedis arteries with a high frequency linear array probe. Strain rate ratio (B/A) was calculated with ultrasonic elastography, and stiffness parameters (β), pressure-strain elastic modulus (Ep), compliance (AC), argumentation index (AI) and pulse wave velocity (PWVβ) were measured by echo-tracking in dorsalis pedis arteries.Ankle arterial and brachial arterial blood pressure of all subjects were measured and ankle-brachial index (ABI) was calculated. Results:Compared with control group and DM-Ⅰ group, the parameters of DM-Ⅱ group including β, Ep, PWVβ and B/A were significantly higher,ed IMT was significantly thicker, AC and ABI were significantly lower (all P<0.05), but there was no statistic significant in AI. Compared with control group, the parameters of DM-Ⅰ group including β, Ep, PWVβ and B/A were significantly higher, AC was significantly lower (all P<0.05). There was no statistic significant in IMT, ABI and AI.Conclusion:1,The changes of the parameters containing β, Ep, AC, PWVβ, and B/A can illustrate the differences of the elastic functions of dorsalis pedis arteries during the early stage. 2,The changes in elastic functions of the arteries are earlier than those of vascular morphology.3,The course of type2diabetic patient can affect the artery elastic function in dorsalis pedis artery, with the prolonged course of disease, elastic functions gradually decreased, further caused the thicken of IMT and the decrease of ABI.4,As the one of indexes, it is possible that the β,Ep,AC,PWVβ and B/A could evaluate the vascular endothelial dysfunction.
