Objective:This paper mainly study the expression and correlation of Snail, E-cadherin and N-cadherin respectively in osteosarcoma and osteochondroma, and evaluate the clinical significance of them in the occurrence, progression, invasion and metastasis of osteosarcoma.Method:Expression of Snail, E-cadherin and N-cadherin in32cases of osteosarcoma and10cases of osteochondroma were detected by using immunohistochemistry method. Then, the results were analyzed by SPSS13.0.Results:(1) The positive rate of snail immunostaining in osteosarcoma (84.4%) was higher than that in osteochondroma (20.0%)(P=0.001). And in the Ennecking surgical staging of osteosarcoma, the expression of Snail in stage Ⅰ and ⅡA was significantly lower than that in stage ⅡB and Ⅲ (P=0.002). The expression of Snail in the transfer group was higher than that in the no transfer group (P=0.047). The expression of Snail has no obvious difference in sex, age and tumor site(P>0.05).(2) The positive rate of E-cadherin immunostaining in osteosarcoma (25.0%) was lower than that in osteochondroma (70.0%)(P=0.027). And in the Ennecking surgical staging of osteosarcoma, the expression of E-cadherin in stage Ⅰ and ⅡA was significantly higher than that in stage ⅡB and Ⅲ (P=0.010). The expression of E-cadherin in the transfer group was lower than that in the no transfer group (P=0.021). The expression of E-cadherin has no obvious difference in sex, age and tumor site(P>0.05).(3) The positive rate of N-cadherin immunostaining in osteosarcoma (75.0%) was higher than that in osteochondroma (20.0%)(P=0.006). And in the Ennecking surgical staging of osteosarcoma, the expression of Snail in stage Ⅰ and ⅡA was significantly lower than that in stage ⅡB and Ⅲ (P=0.010). The expression of Snail in the transfer group was higher than that in the no transfer group (P=0.021). The expression of Snail has no obvious difference in sex, age and tumor site(P>0.05).(4) A negative correlation was found between the expression of Snail and E-cadherin (r=-0.745, P=0.000), E-cadherin and N-cadherin (r=-0.333, P=0.002); while the expression of Snail and N-cadherin was positive correlation (r=0.547, P=0.001).Conclusions:(1) The increased expression of Snail and N-cadherin, the decreased expression of E-cadherin may play an important role in the development, invasion and metastasis of osteosarcoma.(2) The combined detection of snail, E-cadherin and N-cadherin has positive effects on predicting the invasion and metastasis of osteosarcoma.
